1.5.2 upgrade successfully downloaded but two issues found so far;
1. When car locks the previously high pitch sound has been replaced by a very quite ‘thud’ sound - can this be increased in volume?
2. The button on the front screen display enabling the boot to open has disappeared. Is there a solution to add this back to the main screen rather than having to go into a sub menu ?
Thanks

1 No. The thud sound is not a generated sound, but the sound of the locks moving, so no it cannot be changed. I would like it back too.BobA wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 5:08 pm 1.5.2 upgrade successfully downloaded but two issues found so far;

2 No. The easiest way is to press the car button, then the boot open button is revealed. Rather pointless.

1. The "thud" sound IS a generated sound. I've turned the feature back on to see what the fuss was about and it kicks in late, a second or two after the sound of the mechanical lock actuation.
2. Annoyed on the first day with the lack of the boot button on the main screen.

I stand corrected.
In that case it is the worst lock confirmation sound ever.
Personally, I never used the screen boot button (I like to see there is space for it to open before pressing the exterior button), but it is ridiculous that it has been removed, as it was very useful to those who wanted to use it and I can see no good reason to remove it.

Thanks for the replies
It is as if we take one step forward and then two steps back - so frustrating for what is a good car. It could be a fantastic car if Volvo listened to what the Forum is saying...

To be fair I don't think its one step forward and two back, more like two forward and one back.
The car is good, and like you said it could be so much better. Probably will be eventually........

And on the subject of the lock confirmation it is not just the change of the sound. It also operates at a different time.
Old system. Open boot from inside car. Get out. Lock door by pressing handle. Car locks. Mirrors fold. Walk round back collect laptop bag from the boot. Plug in the charger. Press boot button. Walk away. Boot closes and then the high pitched sound triggers at the same time as the hazard flashes. So I know that the car is fully secure and armed on the sound.
New system. Open boot from inside car. Get out. Lock door by pressing handle. Car locks. Mirrors fold. Stupid noise from the horn triggers. Walk round back collect laptop bag from the boot. Plug in the charger. Press boot button. Walk away. Boot closes and then I stand and wait at a distance for the hazards to flash so I know that the car is fully secure and armed.
So the new sound is not just virtually inaudible. It also tells you nothing. It simply does not tell you that the car is secure.
