Ambiance

Hi All

I am new to EX30 Forums and I hope this is not silly question:

One of the Ambiance options together with the respective sounds seems to automatically come on when I am stationary. I know how to go into settings to manually select 'OFF', but it still seems to subsequently turn on.

Any ideas please?

It’s just an annoying feature causing an unnecessary, albeit small, drain on the battery.

I have never had mine come on except when I switch it on from the settings screen.

Unlike Geoff, I like it. When not actually using maps I prefer having it displayed instead the map data (although I have it permamently muted).

Welcome to this forum.

I always have ambience lighting on, but not the sound - it's too loud and distracting.

I haven't heard of it coming on every time when you get in.

The fireplace app is great - I often have it on!

I thought the ambiance lighting gimmick was the leds in the dash and in the front doors. Are you guys saying there is some other utterly useless app that can be loaded onto the screen? The heating is pretty hopeless but having a fireplace in the car would make me want to set a match to the thing.

The ambience screen is installed by Volvo. It has some slightly moving pictures (water, forest, northern lights etc) that project onto the screen while you are driving, with subtle sound effects (that can be muted). The LEDs in the dash and doors change colour slightly to match the colour of the selected picture.

The fireplace is not a Volvo item, and is a noisy crackling wood fire downloaded from the Google Automotive app store to display on the screen when the vehicle is stationary. It disappears when the vehicle is being driven.
