I agree with the other opinions. I don't think you need it.
I don't know if this is your case, but my charger has a 4G connection and I can activate it remotely. Maybe I would set an alarm on my mobile once a month or every two months, to check how much battery I have in the app, and I would charge it. Although I suppose that if you don't do this it is because it doesn't have a 4G connection.
Trickle charger - 12 v battery
Most EV’s, and I doubt if the EX30 is different, only charge the 12v battery from the traction battery when the car is in use. If it’s unused the 12v battery will slowly discharge and eventually there will be insufficient power to unlock the doors, and obviously you couldn’t drive the car. There is a 12v terminal under a panel below the front bumper, near the left wheel, where a charger could be connected. The traction battery will also self-discharge but at an insignificant rate.

For the ex40 BEV that sat in my garage unused, the 12V slowly drained until the entire car alarmed in it's dying moments (very loud and impressive). I bought the car brand new in November, sold it at the end of March. Somewhere in between there was a total discharge of the 12V.

You were right, Geoff. I asked Volvo Spain directly, and among other things, this was their response yesterday: "To the question, can a 12V battery in good condition discharge after a few months, even if the traction battery has enough charge? The answer is yes, since when the vehicle is off, the traction battery is isolated and closed, not supplying electricity to the 12V battery.
For more information, we recommend that you contact an authorized Volvo dealer."

The easy way is to connect the charger to the 12v terminal below the front bumper.

I believe it's only the positive in that hole - you'd then need to connect to the chassis somewhere.

Well since you're the first person to consider doing this I don't know. I don't even know whether it'll work. It's there to permit the doors to be opened if the battery is flat, so check it can be used as you want to before relying on it.
