That is the way that they are required to be by regulation - on by default every drive.

That is the way mine have always been, since purchase with 1.2.1

Your old version must have had a bug that caused it to be faulty and illegal, and now it is fixed.

Too bad, that was one of the few bright spots of this glitchy trash car, when it remembered my settings... Now all I have to look forward to is the car ignoring the fob and not locking/unlocking like literally any other car on the planet with keyless entry...and the gps being *slightly* off🤦‍♂️

I just got an email today from the mothership that I'll be getting 1.5.2 again and I should install it to enable autodim headlights and fix digital keys.

why not 1.5.2a or 1.5.2.1 ? Looks like a repush and not a different version, but being able to have support tell if you have reinstalled based on a version number would be .... useful.

let's see if RSI and lane-change return to the car ...

The latter is a bug - see dedicated topic.

Folks (American & Canadian) on Reddit talk about being shown v1.5.2 to install once again. Others too?

So my wife and I just picked up our EX30 from Cambridge and drove it back to Bristol. Car was on 1.5.2, 10 miles on the clock.

HOLY HELL were people not kidding about the software. Pretty sure my wife wants a divorce…..

It’s her main car, but I’ve set me up as the *owner* profile (As I paid for it), and hers as another (not guest)

Setting up the digital key is a royal PITA. Even the dealer didn’t have a clue. I actually managed to get it to work whilst at Reading Services Tesla Superchargers.
I’ve then shared the key from my IPhone 16 wallet to her iPhone 13 wallet.
As mentioned previously, the car doesn’t switch profile based on who walks up to it. Just uses last profile of who drove it last.
Also, iPhone sometimes doesn’t unlock every time. A few tugs on the door handle, or even opening the wallet app required.

I actually question the need….in my case…for the separate profiles? We don’t have electric seats, so realistically what is the different profiles achieving?
We don’t use the goofy Google OS,maps etc. completely Apple CarPlay….which brings me on to….

Yep, as mentioned somewhere on here, you can’t reply to messages in CarPlay. It sort of tries, then chops the response, and loops. Just doesn’t work. THIS is the main thing she is annoyed about. She uses this all the time.

CarPlay sometimes doesn’t launch by default, requiring the use of the hidden “Launch” button.

When driving back on the motorway, we got a message a couple of times “Driver not detected”. We were like WTF!, I’m sat right here!

Needless to say, she really isn’t impressed, but thankfully the car *drives* really well and nicely for her.

This is her first EV, and her first impressions aren’t good. I’m a Software Developer and the whole thing feels like Alpha, not even Beta release.

Anyway, tomorrow is another day, so I’m hoping it’s not going to be another “Why did we buy this car” day.

Sorry for the rant, but just wanted to share my similar issues that others are having with the car.

Driver not detected happens to me when either my hand is at 12 o'clock on the wheel, or driving into the sun - or, incidently, wearing a balaclava! :)

I did warn you to expect the unexpected in your ‘soon to be new owner’ thread. And you’ll probably discover a lot more issues with the car, the ones you list are simply annoying, others are more serious.

Have had exactly the same issues on ours. Software is rubbish and borderline dangerous in some cases.
Ours is going in to Volvo later this week as now not charging properly via our Zappi when solar charging. Seems to be related to high power solar charging. (6+kW) Car disconnects or thinks that it is full. I have to go to the car and sometimes after unlocking and locking again, it starts charging again as normal.. for a half hour to 1 hour or so. Checked all the in car settings. No charge limits set but have tried 32 amp setting when that feature is turned on. No schedule set either. It has just started having this problem recently. Has been fine on rapid Tesla SC's- no problem.
I suspect it is a faulty or over heating Type 2 socket.
Have now discovered a workaround as when away from home locally when car has been charging and I have received a notification of "failure to charge" on the Volvo app (it appears as a notification on my iPhone), I have found that by going in to the app and "Unlocking" and "Locking" the car the it will re-start charging. So no need to physically unlock it or remove the cable and re-plug it in. Have been WFH recently so have been going down to the car to unlock it and lock it or disconnecting the cable and re-plugging it in, if the locking process does not re-set it.
I have contacted myEnergi who make the Zappi. No other reported issues with charging with the EX30 via Zappi, but they have logged it just in case.
Zappi charges my Ioniq 5 and our previous e-208 and various other EVs (friends and family EV's) just fine.
If this car cannot solar charge properly we will get rid. Just too many annoying issues that ruin the car as an ownership proposition. But as I have said previously it drives so well and ticks so many boxes, am willing to give it a chance. Will see if our local Volvo dealership are any good or hapless..

There must be a problem with your specific car or your power suply.

I charge home, 2/3 times per week, at 10+ kw (3 phase) and after 18.000km it has been flawless, and with the wallbox graphic can see the speed is 100% constant, even with 40ºc + ambient temperature, under the sun
