Picked up my EX30 a few weeks ago and have been mostly enjoying the car. One thing I find off, when I back into my garage it sometimes slams on the brakes and it is hard to get moving again, this is terrible, already in a tight spot and the car is not responding properly. Not sure why park assist does not park for me, the garage is larger then most parking spots...likewise the warnings about tight spaces in the morning it certainly lets me know I am still in the garage with warnings all around. I know I am in a garage anyway to have the car be aware that when I get in it in the morning it will still be in my garage and does not need to warn me that there are walls all around??

Hi, I had the same problem trying to back into my garage. I resolved it by turning one pedal drive off. This gave me lots more control when reversing.

Not had this issue on the EX.
OFTEN on my old LEON CUPRA R.
The answer for me was jto ust go in slower.
That was it cured

However on the EX I was just going to slam into a kerb on a bend and it stopped me.
On my electric FIAT 500 E.
Reversed into a parking bay all clear.
Car slammed on the brakes thought I had hit a post. No I stopped. It stopped in time. Before hitting the steel post. Many others had as it was bent over our of sight. No reversing camera or sensors.
Cheers Andy!

When I select reverse and the camera pops up on the screen, I have an icon for RAB. I assume this is Reverse Auto Braking. I assume if you switch that off then the car will go into the garage more smoothly.

The thing that annoys me is if I reverse and open the door to see where I am up to then the car slams it into park. Similarly if I am reversing without my belt on and lift and swivel myself to get a good view (so weight comes off the seat) it also slams it into park.

You are quite right. Attached is from the manual.

Awesome thanks! I will try turning off the RAB, not a fan of the one pedal driving so that was not the issue, and yes I noticed once I took off my belt and did not take long to slam on the brakes...

Welcome Accylad to this forum.

I'm confused. OPD doesn't operate in reverse so why would switching it off make a difference?
