Well, I would have liked to have started with how easy was this to fit, but I am stumped at the first hurdle.
The car shown in the instruction video is either not an EX30 or a very early model, as my boot light is smaller, fitted higher in the side wall....
and impossible to remove. One reviewer said it could be pushed out from the rear by reaching under the plastic shroud...well you can feel the back but
it feels as if the rear dimensions of the fitting are bigger than the hole and so there is no chance of being pushed out. The video makes it look like a 5-minute job
but unless I can gather more courage to risk breaking either the shroud, fitting or wiring, it's going in the bin....drat I hate PCP deals for this very reason.
I don't suppose anyone braver than me has actually managed to remove their boot light fitting, and if so, how...please
For interest, here is the instruction video.

Having watched the video, I agree its not an EX30.

I've just been out and "had a feel" (since it's dark). Yes I can get my fingers behind the plastic panel but the light does seem to be firmly clipped in. I'll see if I can find a picture of it out.

I've done this for now - it's a motion-sensitive light I got from Amazon years ago for my previous car. Works well just Velcroed in:

Just found this on YouTube:

EDIT - I've just been out and had a really close look - in the pitch black - with a strong LED shining right at me! By I can't see anything there that might be a release.

I have the same kit. I have the same problems. Feel a bit scammed (as I posted in another thread).

Also I have no idea how to really fit the LED strip into the rubber seal without it looking shit, fouling the parcel shelf or even how to get it to bend round the corner.

However, getting to the boot light is not so difficult. I remember I had the whole trim off when I installed the dashcam and that would give access to the rear of the boor light.

Having another go at it is one of my jobs for this weekend.

Here's one fitted - so it CAN be done. However I've just noticed with this that if you have the parcel shelf in place, most of the available light falls on the top of it, so maybe not a great improvement anyway?

Does the rubber not sit out so far proud now that it fouls the parcel shelf and stops it from going up and down?

I have wondered about sticking it to the underside of the shelf and just unplugging when I remove the shelf.

I've done the install. Took some time to push the factory LED out, but it is possible by pushing from behind the plastic part, inserting the fingers from below the plastic where the LED is attached to. No tools used, just some jolting with the fingers. Also I did the install in the under part, so the parcel shelf does not obstruct. I liked the result:

Thanks for the feedback guys...much appreciated. I don't actually have the parcel shelf in because the dog is sometimes in the back, so that's not an issue.
As for pushing from the rear, it just didn't feel as if it would fit through the opening, but if it's been done by PF EX30 then I guess it will, so may try again tomorrow.
Regarding the "push in part" I'm the one who asked the last question on that video so hoping for some response.
I bought the kit based on the "that looks easy" video on the Geelyevs website, plus the fact I have also fitted their dashcam and that was relativity straightforward.
I was going to fit it to the top half but it actually looks quite good on the bottom half....just the fiddly bits to sort first!
