Yes... but, it is inside a news item about Samsung's expansion to compatibility with New Volvo cars...I wish... But, yes, you are probably right and basically, I believe what I WANT to believe and I'm grasping at straws. Sadly.
Anyway, they Talk about "UWB for hands free access" so if bluetooth is available It will be in the way the app is being used now...but maybe It could be integrated on Samsung Bixby or Google Assitant, etc...

We are all just speculating, but the way the app works now is not by bluetooth access.
The app does not connect to the car by bluetooth, but via the internet, through a string stretching from our phone's service provider, through various routing to Volvo's servers then back to the car through it's service provider (different in each country). Very different to a direct bluetooth connection.
And Volvo's system will not be designed to work with Samsung's ideas, but their own.
But we will have to wait and see.....

I wonder how much longer? When it was delivered we were told ‘in a few months’. Getting a bit longer than that now.
Twin Motor Ultra
The fact that it’s on the EX90 would presumably indicate it’s ready to go. But with the UK not even getting 1.5 2 months after it was released in other territories, im guessing something is going on behind the scenes. Volvo’s messaging is really poor though - we’ve had the car nearly a year and when we got it we were told digital key and CarPlay were coming ‘next month’. I’m fed up of the fob being a bit useless but I also expect when digital key comes, it’s likely to be even less reliable!
Yes, yes, agreed. The app works with WiFi, I was trying to use a simile regarding the way it works. That is, if it works with Bluetooth it seems that it will not be by proximity (like the FOB or the foreseeable UWB), but at will. That is, perhaps it will need to be activated by the user. Maybe. As you say, these are speculations. Who knows.SP1959 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 6:39 amWe are all just speculating, but the way the app works now is not by bluetooth access.
