Christmas Update Wishlist

Seeing as it’s been almost 3 months since the last proper update (1.4.2), I’m hopeful Volvo are cooking up a nice Christmas update for us all (we can dream right!).

So I thought I’d start off the wish list - what would you like to see?

• Digital Key via Phone

• Dash Cam mode that records via the front, rear and side cameras

• Ability to set a specific temperature when preheating the car via the app

• Ability to enable Performance Mode via the steering wheel hotkey, or have it remember if it was on between drives

• Stronger OPD, and OPD in performance mode

However my dealer has consistently told me there is an update next week.
To address all issues.
This forum has regularly published by that of you have anythi ng like 1.4.???
You will not get 1.4.4. As that covers all the previous if you could not get it.
So is there still another update they are on about.

Digital Key via Phone – I probably wouldn’t use it but it would be good if the proximity key worked properly every time, and even better if it grew buttons to open the doors and boot – but obviously that’s not going to happen.

Dash Cam mode that records via the front, rear and side cameras – It’s difficult to understand why this isn’t standard or even an option, the cameras are there so how hard could it be? Probably too hard for Volvo.

Ability to set a specific temperature when preheating the car via the app – Why do you want this? The climate control should control the temperature to whatever you set it to.

Ability to enable Performance Mode via the steering wheel hotkey, or have it remember if it was on between drives. That would be good, and too easy so unlikely to happen.

Stronger OPD, and OPD in performance mode. Yes, why not although there are other things I’d like more; being able to turn the fog lights on without searching through various menus while trying to drive for instance.

My Christmas Wish List...

1. I want to be able to fold the mirrors in when in Reverse as my garage is quite narrow. Currently I have to reverse as far as the mirrors, put the vehicle in park, go to car settings and so on to fold the mirrors, before then putting the car back in reverse to finish putting the car in the garage..

2. I would love to have the facility of activating the main headlights quicker, rather than fumbling through a few unnecessary clicks to achieve this...

3. And finally 'YES" Geoff, that intermittent proximity key function gets on my 't#ts' all too often!

On a positive note, I am choosing to use my car rather than my wife's as it is so much more comfortable and a genuinely nice drive...So not all bad.

My wishlist in no particular order:

Stronger, or at least adjustable OPD.
I could almost go a full day on my 2018 BMW i3s without using the brakes. My EX30 rims are covered in brake dust from being forced to brake because of inadequate OPD.
Cleaner integration of Waze, Spotify and a way to access messaging without touching my phone.
Tilting mirrors so I can accurately measure distance to curb when parking.

I forgot the biggest item on my list.
Fix the safety alert menus!
They make no sense. Why show me the quick menu and still make me do two presses to disable? For God's sake give me at a Macro with my favorite settings. I'm in Canada and don't need the EU forced restrictions.
Why have an alert that tells there is something behind me?
There's always something behind me!
Warn me only if it presents an imminent danger. It's horribly distracting and adds yet another needless screen press.

I too have this issue! Would be great as a contextual shortcut when in reverse to fold the mirrors! Even on the reverse camera app.

My wish would be
- What about a winter mode, i do not need the AWD with the performance in a snowy condiotion with the 428HP.
- Notification popup when there is cold weather outside (and not only the little snow flake behind the temperature)
- Working wipers then it is snowing

Due to the continuous writing, without an external mass storage the internal storage memory of the Qualcomm automotive platform will became corrupted in few years (or even in few months), and Volvo needs the system to work for at least 10 years (or until the warranty is valid....)

So likely this won't happen...
