Even when I attempt to heat up the battery in my twin motor EX30, it feels sluggish now that we are at 0° C. Guessing it’s restricting power to keep it safe on the road but thought I’d ask!
Ps - this is with performance mode enabled.
Anyone else noticing power is restricted in colder temps?
Noticed when the battery has a low State of Charge but that is normal for most EVs. Not driven in the icy cold yet as away in hotter climes. Not looking forward to getting back to the UK!

Yes, I also have the twin motor, and at -6°C, it definitely feels lazier than usual. Tomorrow, I’m going on an 800 km trip, followed by another 800 km the next day. I hope that once the battery warms up, the performance will return to normal. Also, in this cold weather, my city consumption is between 27-30 kWh.

Glad it’s not just me! Keep me posted on if the car livens up once the battery warms up on your long trip.grumpyParkMaster wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 8:34 am Yes, I also have the twin motor, and at -6°C, it definitely feels lazier than usual. After setting off (in 2 wheel drive mode to save battery) on Thursday from London this week, I found the one pedal mode was really weird. It was like watching a learner driver in a manual car from the 80s really jerky!
Once it warmed up a bit got noticeably smoother.
Still, neither the EX30 nor my EV9 can touch my former Tesla model 3 long range for the smoothness or reliability of the single pedal operation.

Is this battery type related?
I've not noticed any drop-off with my LFP battery.

Maybe, but it may also be most noticeable on the twin motor where the power output is much higher.gloucester wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 7:19 pm Is this battery type related?
