Hi SP1959, yep I too am experiencing noticeable drop in efficiency. I know it well spoken about but I wasn't expecting it to be quite so significant...

Today, at -1C, driving slowly on slippy minor roads at 40 - 50 mph with heating blowing hot and fast I used 9% (SMER) to drive 14 miles (after using the wipers and windscreen heater to clear frozen snow off the windscreen).

That equates to a range of about 155 miles (250km) on a full charge with a 65 kWh battery.

Rather scary.

I am probably not so clever with the numbers, other than to state my work journey normally uses 20% of battery but during this cold weather it is almost 30% of battery...I am quite surprised when the vehicle has been engineered by Sweden...It is luckily turning mild again on Sunday, but it doesn't bode well if we are in for a colder winter this year...

That doesn’t sound so good Andy. Are you getting it recovered?

My partner does an approximate 50km commute. Yesterday it was roughly 1C on the way there and about 7C on the way home. 19.7kWh/100km on the morning run 18.4kWh/100km on the evening run. Not exactly controlled experiment but increase in energy consumption probably due to additional heating load.

I really do not know what to do.
Speak to the dealer tomorrow. If I get a loan car for this weekend away YES.
I have been and reset it 4 times.
The app said I cannot do anything as it is still in use. Yes it was. Locked up unable to charge.

I am sure come tomorrow all will be totally okay again. So waste of everyone's time.

Yes it did all settings seemed to be working.
Dealer had never heard of it before.
Told him about the global forum.
Advice is
Contact Volvo assist next time.
They have no loan cars and booking for 3rd Dec

I was impressed today how quicky the screen cleared at -2degC. I got in, immediately said "OK Google turn defroster on" and within a minute the screen was clear. Hadn't thought to precondition.

Since taking delivery of my SMER EX30 in April, most weeks - once a week - I have done a 140 mile (225 km) round to using exactly the same route. Normally this journey uses 62% to 67% of my battery.

Today, 0°C to 2°C it used 78%

Heating was left on Auto with a medium fan speed and the driver's side set to 23° and the passenger's to 28°. Some use of heated seats and heated steering wheel.

Admittedly, about 20 miles were done with OPD off due too snow lying on the road (I wanted have all the braking bring done by 4 wheels, not the two used by regeneration in OPD mode, to prevent rear wheel skids)
