Hi
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have had my EX30 for three months and the internet in the car has never worked. This means I can’t use most of the google comands and do not get any traffic information. The car has been in for days at the local Volvo garage and their tech guys have been talking to the tech guys at Volvo but they can’t get the internet in the car to work. Has anyone else experienced this ? Getting a bit fed up now. Love the car to drive but this problem had put a downer on it.

I solved a problem lasted few weeks where the EX30 suddenly could no longer connect to LTE or 5G calling the Volvo toll free line: they immediately recognized the issue and told me that they have to delete the association between my Volvo ID and the EX30 so I can reassociate afterwards.
After an hour I repeated the initial association of my ID to the car (QR code , etc.) and the LTE/5G connection immediately started working again.
Anyway the dealer told me that they too could have disassociated my ID, not only the Volvo direct support.

JohnG, where are you based? I am in the Isle of Man, and there is no connection at all. Have been told it effects all EX30's here. When I went to mainland, it worked perfectly.

Welcome JohnG to this forum.

Keep battling with Volvo - fortunately mine worked first time.

That really sucks, sorry to hear.
I get sporadic connectivity issues in the Netherlands with Volvo's Vodafone partnership, which I can confirm provides the car with bare-bones bandwidth, but it suffices for Spotify and some very pixelated YouTube streaming.

It seems your case has to do with either coverage of the plan Volvo has with its partner, or alternatively, your credentials, the latter likely easier to resolve via customer support or dealership.

If it's the former, they're going to pillar-to-post the case to death.

did you buy the car new or second hand ?
i have lots of problems and i bought it secondhand, and my error was that the car was registered to the guy that bought it in the first place. (also heard about the Volvo shops that is buying cars to sell and the car is registred to the company.
i was in contact with support and they told the was registered to me and all was fine, even 2 mechanical was stating the same, at in the end i step ed up at my local Volvo dealer and talked to an mechanical and got him to check what email Address that was registered to the car, and surprisingly it was not my address, after they removed the email address and added my user account it was a good step towards my goal..

i also had to delete my Volvo ID and registered it again (i waited 24 hours in between the deletion and creation) and after this all was good.

maybe this could be at help for someone.

I got my EX30 a fortnight ago from Jackson’s in Guernsey. Then spent a week back and forth with their software expert trying to get IITC up and running. Turns out Volvo do not yet have an agreement with Sure to provide the service. This affects Channel Islands and Isle of Man. I’m assured this will be sorted in the near future.

Hi All
Update on my internet problem. Thankfully all sorted now. Volvo think it was an omission or corruption of initial software. Big update done including 1.4.2 and Apple car play. Reconnected my info like it was a new purchase and internet connected as it should. Very pleased this is eventually resolved.
