My car has been with the dealer all of this week to investigate a big list of “issues” including the radio fade when braking, delays unlocking, incorrrect speed limits, constant resets of the car while locked (sometimes with my dog inside resulting in me returning to a blaring alarm despite disabling it when I parked up), loss of Volvo app/need to reset almost every time I use it, heater blowers not working on drivers side and not delivering warm air…

The dealers have just installed 1.4.2 so I’ll be in testing mode for a wee while. I’ll drop any observations onto this thread. If anyone else has experience with this software update please can they share. I’m considering returning my car if these issues persist so any shared knowledge is much appreciated.

I believe if you can’t wait you can go to your dealer to get them to update it for you, but I have surprisingly not seen on here / Reddit anyone saying their dealers even have it yet.
My dealer (glasgow) has it - installed this morning

I too am checking hourly for the 1.4.2 update here in Brisbane 😎 can’t wait for apple play

Last week I had a Tesla model y as a rental for a few days the ACC is very nice in that it will set to the speed limit when engaged, but if you press the + or - sign after it has set the advertised speed limit the acc will adapt to that next speed not the speed limit. Next when the speed limit is 80 and then changes to 60 the car stays at 80 until you again press the +/- button and then it sets to the new speed limit. I hope the new ACC update works like this.

Crazy icon proportion difference, but will get used to it I think.

Call me 'Mr Picky' but what's with "7:59p.m." --- those full stops?? Who writes abbreviations these days with full stops in them?

I like the big icons. My poor 60 year old eyes will appreciate them greatly and also wish certain other parts of the EX30 were (much) bigger, particularly the clock, the battery percentage and the remaining range. My better half has just ordered a Mini Cooper electric and the display in that car is fantastic - bright, colourful and with big display elements.

I couldn't agree more re the size of the icons - I don't need glasses to drive in the ordinary way of things, but reading some of the screen is a trial - finding the clock is a challenge, let alone reading it - and reading the speed limits is nigh on impossible! Guesswork!

Regarding the issues you mentioned after the update and leaving the dealership, have you had a chance to verify if they’ve been fully resolved? I understand the update was done recently, but I imagine that many malfunctions tend to show up quickly. Also, you mentioned the brake and radio issues—could you let me know if these were fixed with a hardware replacement or just through the 1.4.2 update?

Thanks a lot!
