If the argument is that larger types do not fit in that part of the screen... first it is false, because I made a more or less botched design and it fit perfectly. And second, they could do something similar to what they do with the Polestar software, which is that you can increase or shrink the size of the map, increasing the space for other functions and therefore having a second accessibility setting for people with presbyopia (more or less 80% of the population over 45) who would most of the time prefer to be able to see crucial information on the screen than to have a huge map.

In relation the the lane assist, I never use ACC.

I always use the (Manual) Speed Limiter. It always works.

It is off by default and must changed to on for each drive.

It does not use Goggle data or read signs, so it is never wrong because it is set by you alone.

It doesn't need to be cancelled to speed up, just press harder on the accelerator and it overrides it. You can also increase and reduce the set speed with the plus and minus buttons on the left hand stalk, or just cancel it with a downward push on the right hand stalk, change to your new speed and reactivate it at that speed with another downward push on the right hand stalk.

In relation to the overtaking assist (Lane Change Assist). I have never used it, I have never had it on. I have now just discovered why - it is greyed out in my car (and, come to think of it, always has been) - which in my opinion is a really good bug to have. I won't complain about that one.

Ahh, good tip to press the accelerator harder, thanks, I'll give it a go!
Leaves the "A" in ACC that is still missing......
Hopefully, Volvo fixes that bug soon .

When I suggested making the screen text more visible I was thinking more of changing font size etc.
Double the font size
Use BOLD fonts
Use plain text (Sans Serif)
Used together would GREATLY improve legibility and would be easy to implement.

Unfortunately this AAOS user interface is apparently tailored for cars having also a driver display to provide all the important info, like the EX90: in this case, apart for the software bugs, noone would probably complain.

I'm low key hoping the EX90 or some Polestar driver's display will be compatible with the EX30. If not, the other option is a third party driver's display like all the options they have for teslas. For that to happen, a lot of EX30 need to be sold so there's a market for stuff like this.

Some Apple users seem happy with CarPlay. Some less so. As an Android user, it is off no interest to me.

However I do think that Volvo should not have said the car would have CarPlay and then sold the car without it. They should have ensured that it was as described before releasing it, and then carried on improving from there.

As an ex-Android Auto user, I was disappointed that Android Automotive did not allow all the apps that Android Auto did. I didn't use many, but TomTom was a much better navigation tool than Google Maps (better directions, but worse search capabilities). However as TomTom does not integrate with the electric cars battery charge state, I probaby wouldn't go back to it again. ZapMap however would be really useful, but isn't on Android Automotive (only on Android Auto).

I agree completely with BobN. The text writing on the screen should be much larger and bolder. (Even adjustable in settings by the customer?).

There should be more shortcut buttons on the main screen. One small row is all thats needed: speed limiter, steering assist, driver attention warnings, speeding warnings, 4x4, fog lights etc. It would make life so much easier, and the space taken up on the map would be negligable. Maybe tgey could even hsve offered condumers a choice of which shortcuts to place there?

To be realistic, for people like me that drive mainly in usual and well known areas, the intrusive Google map should be possibly reduced to an actionable icon and its space could be reused for showing more important info and functions in a more friendly way.

For ex. this is what I've obtained on my previous RAV4 2011 mounting an aftermarket Android head unit.
