Update 1.4.2 released
The withdrawal has to do with the fact that update did not come through completely for everyone. Remained stuck at 90%, e.g. Hence. Should be resolved within 2-3 weeks. Update will pop up again on its own.
Dutch Volvo EX30 Ultra 2024 / Moss Yellow / Mist
Hi SP1959 re your posts on the 22nd and 24th September to me. You were right, it was a keyfob battery problem. Old battery voltage was 2.8volts. New battery voltage 3.2v. 2.8v was enough to enable the car driving, but not remotely lock/unlock. Just a coincidence that the software had updated to 1.4.2 at the same time!! Sorry for the slow respose, but my local shops did not stock the required CR2450 battery and I had to buy online.
Re the new Welcome screen, it's not quite the same as the Quick Controls screen. It's missing a few icons at the bottom the screen. Why did they bother?
Apple phone users will no doubt be happy with the new Carplay feature. i wish Volvo would spend more time improving the existing screen legibility
( I can't read most of it) and many other basic problems and not spending time on new features. You need to get the basics right first!!

Twin Motor Performance Ultra - Vapour Grey/Indigo
I had the same (in NL), but the other day it just downloaded and installed fine (see my post above).

Although I agree with the statement, support for Apple CarPlay was in the folders from day one.... And I think most of 1.4.2 was just delivering up to that promise....
Next most irritating bug (for me) is (Adaptive) cruise control NOT working when using the tow bar.....

I was wondering why ACC doesn't work with a towbar.
As part of Pilot Assist, is the ACC system linked to the assisted overtaking function (which I have never used - but it's probably part of Pilot Assist too)?
The assisted overtaking function clearly needs to see an uninterrupted view to the rear to identity approaching vehicles from behind. Anything on a towbar would render that system unsafe as it may hide an approaching vehicle. So I would imagine the assisted overtaking function would be deactivated if the towbar is in use.
If they are in fact all parts of the same system, that would also suitable ACC.
Is that a bug? Or a safety feature?
Either way it's annoying for you.
One workaround would be to switch off Pilot Assist and switch on the manual Speed Limiter instead. You could then set the speed you want to cruise at and keep your foot on the accelerator to cruise at the that speed without having to check the speedo all the time. (Although, unlike in ACC, you would have to ease up on your foot when catching up with other vehicles.)

It's acknowledged as a know problem by the dealer.SP1959 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 8:56 am I was wondering why ACC doesn't work with a towbar.

And yes, I too can understand the reasoning for not allowing Pilot assist when utilising the tow bar, but the (A) CC should just work.
Everything in this car is handled by software, so I'm assuming (assuming, I do NOT know...) that the firmware of the car currently probably just disables all automatic control of speed/direction and a fix should change that to "just control speed" when tow bar is utilised.
Clever idea on setting the limiter! (although I don't know if THAT function works). But I HATE the limiter feature for exact that reason: you need to disable it when speeding up.
