Apple CarPlay
Apple CarPlay is now available. You can use it to connect your iPhone to your car wirelessly and access iPhone apps via the main area of the display in the car.
EX30 CarPlay
To start using it, you need connect your iPhone to your car via Bluetooth and then activate Apple CarPlay either through your iPhone or by opening the CarPlay app.
To activate CarPlay:
If you’ve already connected your iPhone to the car you need to remove it first. You can do this on the Bluetooth settings page.
Open the app library in the car by pressing the app symbol at the bottom of the display.
Open the CarPlay app. You’ll be prompted to add a Bluetooth device – accept this to be directed to the Bluetooth settings.
Press “Add another device” and open the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone. Then follow the instructions in the display and on the iPhone screen.
Once your iPhone is connected, Apple CarPlay will be available on the home screen.
You can prevent CarPlay from starting automatically by going to Bluetooth settings, then phone settings and then disconnecting the CarPlay app.
When CarPlay is active you can interact with Siri by pressing and holding the voice control button on the steering wheel for a few seconds. You can read more about Apple CarPlay in the User manual.
Welcome View
The new Welcome View will greet you when you enter the car. It gives you quick access to some of the most common personalisation settings, like adjusting mirrors or the exterior lights, driving settings like One pedal drive and Lane keeping aid and more.

To close the Welcome view, just put the car in gear or press the home button in the bottom left.
Adapt to speed limit
This feature will automatically adjust the speed limit to match the road speed limit when you’re using Pilot Assist or Adaptive Cruise Control. You can activate it in the Driving settings menu.
Other improvements:
Improved Radio reception – We’ve also improved the reception for both DAB and FM radio.
Road Sign Information – improved performance.
Waze (third party app) – blocking issue while driving is now solved.
Bug fixes that do not affect performance or other certified properties.
Update 1.4.2 released
This "Adapt to speed limit" would be nice if it is working as intended, most excited for the Digital Key Plus, but nice to know we have finaly would get the famous "Apple CarPlay"

This looks very promising, I will be so chuffed if Apple Car Play is working and the Welcome screen looks very useful too...

I have no experience with the Over the Air update yet. How long does it really take until the update is available? The release notes say within 3 weeks, which is probably a very generous calculation. How long has it taken between announcement and availability in the past?
In my case, release notes showing on phone app, but not in car settings, so probably still a while left for the car updating.
On the other hand, I manually updated the Waze app through the play store in the car, and had smoother usability already.

Sounds very good news. Good first drive today - main snag was the vehicle confusing speed limits - thinking we're in a 40 when we're not.

In relation to the bit about ACC recognising speed limits, this option has always been in the manual, just not in the car.
I have had communication with Volvo about this in the past, and was told it would come in an update. It now has.
I understand that it will be the full ACC, but with the option of specifying the legal speed limit as the target speed instead of selecting your own target speed. In other words, in this setting, the car will always drive at the maximum allowed speed unless a slower vehicle is in front.
And if course, it will suddenly slow down (or speed up) without warning everytime it encounters a section of road where the speed limit data supplied by Google or captued by the camera is wrong.
