Hello Forum Members,
Asking if anyone has experienced a warning related to the electric drive system.
Recently experienced a warning on two occasions, weeks apart in which an extended beep alerts you to a message on the screen with a red warning triangle stating “Electric drive fault. Power reduced. Service required.”
After a minute the car returned to normal and driving characteristics remained unchanged.
The only thing I can say that was in common on both occasions was that I was on a steep incline at the time. One time going up and the other while descending.
Welcome your thoughts or experiences.
Electric Drive Warning
Hi all,
I experienced the same thing so I took the EX30 to the dealership and it is in fact a bug. They charged the 1.3 software and the alert didn't appear; then they went back to 1.4 and they got the warning. This only happens when the car is incline. The technicians said it should be fix in the upcoming software version but there's nothing to worry, electrically speaking.

Also had this error. Second time having it, and it disappears after a few seconds. Both times the car was left for several hours undriven. Both on 1.4

I've had the electric drive fault warning twice in the last week. Car would not go into drive. It eventually does after a few attempts. Hope it's a software issue only.

I have experienced this twice now. Both times it was parked on a level driveway where it has been parked many times before and since with no issue. The alarm sounded for a few seconds and then cleared. I checked the car status page immediately after and there was no mention of it. Coincidentally I was at the dealer service department after the first occurrence and mentioned it to them, they did a diagnostic check and nothing had been recorded so my guess is that it is a software glitch where an alarm is shown even though there is no fault condition present. Hopefully it won’t be too regular an occurrence.

It happens to me very frequently. When driving in slopes/inclines. Dealer says the same, it's a bug and we should wait. In my case it happens regularly cause I live in a hilly city.
The warning displayed once for me. I had parked it on level ground at the leisure centre. I forgot my phone in the car. That was the only thing out of the ordinary that I did. On coming back in 45 mins and opening the driver door, I saw this message on screen. But it drove totally as usual.
