GPS Issues

Yep. Mine too. Done it maybe 4 or 5 times in 15k miles. That said my phone has done it few times in the past when running Google maps in a cradle in my old car. And it is the same MO each time (phone and car) which is that it is out by about 30 or 40m. This makes me feel it is a Google issue and not a Volvo one.

This does seem to prove that the problem is with Google, not Volvo.

My errors were also less than 50 metres. Still enough to be really annoying if navigating. If not navigating (thankfully I wasn't) it was distracting with the maps swinging round all the time - so I hid the maps behind the ambience screen.

Under normal circumstances I'd be kinda OK with it, but really needed it to be spot on today as traveling around unfamiliar tricky motorway junctions etc etc.

In my case, it's not particularly different from what Google Maps does on my phone (both on this new phone and the old one) 99% of the time it's perfect...and occasionally, rarely, it even puts me on the parallel road. Nothing alarming. It's still the best navigation tool there is both in the car and on the phone...and I'm not a Google fan.

Took the car to dealer today. As expected they said nowt wrong with maps. They also popped 1.5 software on. Now the car is offline and ain't connecting to 4g / 5g at all. The App is showing car in use. Suggestions on a fix welcome.

Got into mine at 4pm today and it was offline, so would happily navigate me home but without live traffic. Popped mobile hot-spot on on my phone, told the car to connect to my phones WiFi hot-spot and bingo live traffic restored. Might be annoying but there is usually a workaround in life.

I have had this a many occasions and very randomly. In cities, at home, in rural areas. Along with multiple other software issues I requested a refund for the car and requested to start a returns process based on numerous unresolved defects. My car has been at the dealers this week and had (another) software update which they claim will fix this. I’ll keep you posted….

I just use CarPlay until it comes back online. Nice and easy if you are an iPhone user.

Aconteceu comigo, ontem a 1 vez depois de 7 meses.
Dia nublado com chuva.
Saí do trabalho para almoçar sem GPS no Maps e Waze.
Indicou sempre a última posição onde o ex30 esteve estacionado. Foi um percurso de 15 minutos.
Almocei, e quando voltei ao carro já estava tudo bem.
Utilizei o CarPlay durante a “greve” do GPS
Foi em Lisboa.

It happened to me yesterday too, driving from Cornwall to Wiltshire. GPS all over the place throughout the journey and because it didn't really know where it was it kept changing the speed limit in cruise which was irritating. Glad I know where I was going. When this has happened before in another car, the built in Tomtom system played up but so did Waze. Like other recent posts, my app lost contact with the car also overnight on Thursday/Friday. Back to normal on Friday apart from GPS issue.
