That said my phone has done it few times in the past when running Google maps in a cradle in my old car. And it is the same MO each time (phone and car) which is that it is out by about 30 or 40m. This makes me feel it is a Google issue and not a Volvo one.
My errors were also less than 50 metres. Still enough to be really annoying if navigating. If not navigating (thankfully I wasn't) it was distracting with the maps swinging round all the time - so I hid the maps behind the ambience screen.
