Apologies if this has been covered in another thread, but has anyone else suffered with GPS issues?

On a few occasions my car position has been out by around 50m, which causes a huge problem when navigating as the system keeps trying to re-route me!

This issue has not been fixed by doing a system reboot and has resolved itself eventually without input from me.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that on the two occasions I’ve experienced this, it’s been cloudy - surely the system can’t be susceptible to a bit of cloud?!

After 2000 miles it’s happened to me once and it was a cloudless day. It “drifted” on and off for about an hour then sorted itself out.

My gut feeling is that the GPS was affected by interference from other tech in the car

Same here. While travelling north on the A1, the GPS thought I was in a parallel road with lots of roundabouts. And another occasion it thought I was on the perimeter road in a 20 limit inside an airbase, rather than on the public road outside. My dealer drives an EX30 and he told me he is seeing the same problems sometimes. We've now started connecting our car to a wifi hotspot on a phone in the car. As soon as we did that, a lot of these connectivity issues have disappeared (and been replaced by increased data usage on the phones of course).

To be sure that it's a GPS issue and not a Google Maps calculation problem you could use another navigation app like Waze and check if these tracking errors occur again.
And possibly travel again on the same affected roads to see if the issue recurs just there: it might be a software calculation problem with some particular Google map information.

I've had the car since September and today this has been a huge issue travelling 280 miles. I've done everything to resolve to no avail, so have booked it in.

Let us know what they say - mine's only done it about twice and cured itself on the next drive, or even I think during the drive.

I've never tried a reset for anything.

I have had this issue 3 times in 8 months. Always cures itself overnight.

I can mostly cope with the buggy software, but when the trip requires it to work properly for navigation and charging then it's really not good enough. I don't want to get my phone out to navigate like I used too !! Will see if it cures itself.

Yep. Mine too. Done it maybe 4 or 5 times in 15k miles. That said my phone has done it few times in the past when running Google maps in a cradle in my old car. And it is the same MO each time (phone and car) which is that it is out by about 30 or 40m. This makes me feel it is a Google issue and not a Volvo one.
