Hey, for all those who are interested in an installation video of the FITCAMX complete package incl. 4k front camera, 1080p rear camera, CPL filter and hardwire kit on the fuse box, then take a look at my installation video. Maybe it will help
Dashcam
That's fantastic, great work Thoni! Will definitely help and give people the confidence to do it themselves, well done

Thanks for the excellent video. I bought the Fitcamx kit despite not having received my vehicle yet but am even more confident of a successful install having watched yours. Also, will now order the fuse kit knowing someone has done the groundwork.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
Many thanks for the kind words. I have attached a video of the differences in quality between the camera set to 2160p and 1440p, as well as the effect of the CPL filter. I could hardly recognise any differences with the camera setting and therefore I'm keeping 2160p permanently, as it has more pixels. What makes me feel better, however, is the fact that the number plate of the other vehicles is always recognisable in at least one frame ... Here in the video, of course, pixelated down to 1-2 characters. So in an emergency, you can be pretty sure that you can find the guilty party. The overall quality of the recordings could be better, I have the feeling that comparably priced dashcams sometimes deliver a better image, but in view of the full integration in the mirror housing and the "safety first" purpose, I'm fine with it.
And about the CPL filter: it does what it's supposed to!
Just let me know if you have any questions.

Great videos - well done!
Just confirming for the quality level review, you are downloading the videos from the camera rather than streaming over WiFi? I notice at the start of your review some video glitches. I sometimes see this if I stream love to check the camera, but aren’t present on the recorded video to the SD card.
Also had a look at quality and went with the higher pixel count. The videos are quite similar and quality is generally very good.

What kind of video glitches do you mean? I read out the SD card directly on the computer and continued to use it there to cut the video.jblackburn wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 6:34 am Great videos - well done!

This is a video effect (photo trigger) as a transition from video to still image.
I have the Ultra version of the car and am trying to install the fitcam. This is my rearview mirror without the cover:
Thank you!
In the box there are two cables and from the video I believe I should connect the one with the green tip. What is the red one for?
Do I need it or is it only for the Core version of the car?Thank you!
