Waiting for my Black Ultra RWD and considering dashcam options. Ideally would have preferred a BMW - like system utilizing the existing cameras, but I don't believe that it's possible. The most elegant solution I've seen so far is Fitcamx which has a very OEM look, but I've yet to see one dedicated to the EX30. Has anyone pursued this Fitcamx solution further?
Thanks.

I emailed fitcam - they said they planned to make one but didn’t give a date.

In the meantime I have powered the Dashcam through the OBD port which is nice and discrete. Getting to the fusebox is a lot of effort (it’s under the bonnet) and getting to the USB ports would require drilling or visible cables. So that seemed like the best option

I hope Fitcamx follows through. I take it that you wired to fusebox because of the lack of usb ports. My fear, based on posts in other forums relating to EV's , is that typically EV's have smaller 12v batteries and are therefore more susceptible to draining. I'm hopeful this can be mitigated through your dashcam settings. I live in a large metropolitan area and have had numerous rear-end collisions so a dashcam is a necessity.
Cheers.

I have a Nextbase dashcam, which was hardwired into my Leon Cupra, and the nice guys at Vertu Volvo fitted it to my new EX30. They had to wait for the correct fuseholder connector though. The one I supplied was for 'mini' fuses but the Volvo now uses the 'micro' fuse version.
The Nextbase camera does give a very good (evidential) quality picture!

I don't suppose you have any pictures of the install - I have the right connector ready once I get my proper car

Going to follow this one as I would also love some sort of integrated dash-cam.
See what this thread comes up with! :)

I also have a Nextbase DashCam (front and rear), removed from my BMW before I sold it. As the EX30 fusebox is under the bonnet, and the dashboard is a really snug fit to all the door surround and the windscreen panels, I spoke to my dealer and they fitted it for me and made a really good job of it. I think it took some time but I'd agreed a fixed price and mine was the first they'd fitted to an EX30. I believe that its powered off the back of the USB sockets.

Got the same reply from this Fitcamx crowd, under development will advise once it's done.

"We expect Volvo EX-30 compatible camera to be launched in early June."

Interesting - do you know what voltage can the Nextbase accept? Haven't opened the box on mine yet.

The Nextbase cam just needs a 12 volt 'switched' live. Would have thought the usb sockets were 5 volt.
I believe that if the dealer even showed me where the fusebox was he'd have to kill me!!!
Can't find any fuse info anywhere. If a fuse blows then it's a dealer job.....
