Clearly a new addition. I know I rechecked in December and it wasn't available for the EX30 then, but it now shown on their UK website now toobenjiw46 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 8:50 amThe installation manual ist new as far as I know and is for the 2025 EX30 (second link). I don't know why a Volvo dealer wouldn't fit it if there is a Volvo installation manual.
First link is only to a shop and I wouldn't consider it not approved if the EX30 is not yet mentioned in the title. It is listed on the Volvo homepage as accessories for the EX30 CC (https://accessories.volvocars.com/fr-ch ... 25?lang=en)

Does anyone know why this shows TWO connections into the fuse box - CF27 and CF44? Presumably one is "ignition" switched and the other is permanently live? So parking mode?

Pretty much agree. It doesn't really look like the designers have racked their brains trying to integrate the device into the car. There are third-party cameras better suited to the EX30 than this strange, burglar-magnet.

Don’t forget if you hardwire a dash cam to let your insurance company, at least in the UK, it’s a modification that they need to know about and is a question they ask. Not informing them could invalidate your insurance.
I use an old android phone with a brilliant dash cam app running on battery that last around 30 hours between charges , no SIM card needed. As it’s not hard wired I don’t need to let my insurers know and I can throw it the glove box out of site when parked up & no unsightly cables.

A lot of insurance companies will give you a discount for having a dashcamDonny Simm wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 11:32 am Don’t forget if you hardwire a dash cam to let your insurance company, at least in the UK, it’s a modification that they need to know about and is a question they ask. If you tell them that you have a wired in dash-cam, they may give you a discount. But if you have an accident and it was not recording they may refuse your claim as you were driving without it when you said you had it.
If you don't tell them you have a wired in dash-cam, if you make a claim they may refuse your claim as you modified the vehicle and didn't tell them.
In short, if you wire in a dash-cam, you must tell them and then always use it. If it stops working for any reason (faulty dash-cam, memory card, wiring etc) you must then tell them too. Otherwise, either way, they can save themselves a lot of money and refuse your claim.

And you must let plod have the data if requested by them and it becomes an offence if you attempt to hide or destroy any footage. If that data points the finger at self then that’s a bummer to say the least. Using an old phone means the data on the phone can be used if it suits but otherwise off it goes to the trash can.SP1959 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 5:45 pmThey want to have their cake and eat it too.JoeS wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 1:40 pmA lot of insurance companies will give you a discount for having a dashcamDonny Simm wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 11:32 am Don’t forget if you hardwire a dash cam to let your insurance company, at least in the UK, it’s a modification that they need to know about and is a question they ask. Hi, I picked up my ex demonstrator EX 30 on Friday - we are loving it (this is my 5th EV! - a lot has changed since 2016) can someone please tell me / show me which is the switched live fuse that I should put my dash cam piggy back connector upon - is there a numbered diagram that I can refer to (of the fuse box in the passenger footwell) - my installer put it where he thought was suitable, but it turned out it was not switched, so I am having to turn off the camera when I am not driving. Regards Andy
