I have just discovered the 6A issue on my new EX30, which has v1.3 software. I am a total EV newbie and couldn't understand why the car was charging so slowly. Was it the car, the home charger, or the grid? Thanks to this forum, which I only discovered today, I have now manually set the charging in-car software to 32 amps, and all seems okay....

For me, the main thing is that this issue hardly builds confidence!

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Volvo have a pretty decent reputation and this is pretty new software, bound to be some kinks.
Butttttt....if someone hadn't told me about the fact that I have to turn on the amperage limit in order to charge it faster I never would have figured it out ;)

For clarity - it's 1.3.1

You're the first I've heard getting it.

The tech, at Vertu Volvo in Taunton, spent some time with me going through my 'defect list' and explaining what he had, or hadn't, been able to solve.
There was no problem with me updating my list regularly so they could feed back to Volvo....

I left my SMER into the local Volvo dealer for the installation of the update 1.3.1 and the charging issue has been resolved. You set the rate @ 32 amps and it stays there after powering the car down and powering up again later. Great or charging on a schedule.

Even with the 1.3.1 software the 'charging issue' has raised its head again!!
Went to 'enjoy' my solar output (and still haven't got a cheap night rate...) so put car on charge....
Current Limit set 'OFF' but current limit active at 4 amps. Had to turn current limit 'ON', set limit to 32 amps then turn 'OFF' limit to get it to charge at 7kW.
Obviously if were using overnight charging it wouldn't have worked.....

Anyone else still getting this?

I am at software v1.3 from day of collection.
First time I charged the limiter was off but it only charged at 6 amps.
Second time, I switched the limiter on, set it to 32 amps then switched it off. Charged at 32 amps.
Third time, did nothing expecting it to still be at 32. Charged at 6 amps.

I now have the limiter switched on and set to 32 amps and it seems to work consistently.

Hello everyone... I have tested it yesterday, just after return from my dealer/service (went there to adjust my steering wheel/geometry) but they updated also my software from 1.2.1 to 1.3.1 (btw. app is still showing v. 1.2.1 and needs to reconnect each time I open it). So... I connected the cable, set limit to 32A then turn off the limit and left my car to charge over the night. Unfortunately it was charged only with around 6 KW (Picture 1).

Some time ago (stil with software v. 1.2.1) I have connected the cable and set limit to 32A then I left it ON. But also that time it was not so good, mostly charged at around 14 KW and only last 30 min with around 20 kW (Picture 2).

I am using network at work which is very stable, with limit up to 24 kW. All my friends with different cars do not have such issues and their AC charging curve at work is almost flat, without "jumps" and always max.
Is your charging stable or you have the same issues as me? I am wondering if it is software or hardware issue?
