Charging Questions

Hi all,

I've had my Ex-30 for about 2 weeks now and have just charged it up and have a couple of queries.
(Went for the extended range version over the twin performance version).

I left it charging at a street charger (22Kw, type 2) and it took about 8 hours to go from 50% to 90% which seems a bit long and is outside even what Volvo dictate on their website.
Is there some sort of setting in the car that I am missing that limits the charging rate?

Welcome to this forum

If the car's software has not been updated to 1.3, the charging current slider resets to 6A each time.

Have a search on here or wait for someone to come along who's practised at the right settings.

I don't remember ever seeing a "charging current slider", where does that appear? In the app or in the car?
Does it only appear when charging?

According to my Volvo app the cars software is on 1.2.1, however it also says it up-to-date.

Car icon at bottom of screen -> Settings -> Charging -> Limit charging current.

Switch it on and move the slider to 32A to charge at full speed. Need to do this each time an AC charger is plugged in. Dies not apply to DC charging.

That's crazy, worked like a charm!

Is there a downside to using 32a? Why would the default without this limit enabled be the slowest setting possible?

Sorry - been out but your query's been answered.

No issues doing this. The only reason to charge at a slower speed is if your solar panels aren't outputting much, but it doesn't apply of course to those without.

Anyone know when they release these software updates?

1.3 was released nearly 3 weeks ago so curious if I have to drop this into the dealer to update it or do I just get it through the car?
