I just charged up with some free electricity from Octopus and this is what the app is currently showing…

Also just topped up with free Octopus energy today. Mine is showing 87% and 212.5 miles.
We also force-charged our solar battery, cooked bread and ran the tumble dryer (all at the same time on the free hour). :-)

SMSR in the UK - given that I drive relatively gently most of the time - almost always on OPD and with ACC - I find this dynamic range estimation VERY disappointing considering it's mid-Summer in the UK not mid-Winter!

I purchased a new 69Kwh, Dual Motor Ultra EX30, 3 weeks ago. I live in Montreal, Canada.

The first time that I charged it from 30% to 90% it showed a range of 260 kms. I was shocked. I was willing to accept anything over 400 kms but to be 160kms short seemed ridiculous. The advertised range for this car in Canada is 420 kms.

I have since charged it to 100% based on the dealers recommendation and it only gives me 288 kms. Has anyone had success at bringing the range from such a discrepancy to its advertised range?

Welcome to this forum.

It does for some reason take a few charges to get to a consistent figure.

Turn the heater/AC, heated seats and steering wheel off and drive at 45mph Don’t drive at night or when it is wet and don't use maximum defrost or performance mode and you might get closer to 400km.

With the range calculation set to dynamic we get 305km at 90% charge pretty consistently. Plus or minus 5km depending on the previous journey and climactic conditions. We live on south coast of England so not usually that hot or cold so the ashp seems to cope well.

I consistently get 205 miles @ 100%. Of course that is 'advertised on the screen'.
Then I might:
select A/C / heated seat / heated steering wheel / drive fast \ accelerate hard / - in other words, drive normally.
This figure can deteriorate to 180 mile range in the worse case scenario.
The Volvo Ultra AWD EX30 - is NOT good on range. If you want range - drive like a granny, not like you stole it!

In summer I was getting about 220 miles on 90% (SMER), now its colder about 190 miles on 90%. (That's on long journeys. Lots of short journeys where the cabin has to be frequently warmed and then allowed to cool again quickly reduces it to about 140 miles on 90%)

In + degrees it is normal to get 330km range with AWD model but drive RWD mostly, when it is below 0 then range is shorter about 240-250km. Highway 90% of time with 100km/h.
