Does anyone know if there is any type of setting available on the EX30 to maximise mileage range? I don’t think there is and I can’t find anything in the manual so suspect not.
On my Mercedes EV you can adjust different driving settings that increases regenerative braking resistance and various other settings so you can increase the range on a long journey.
So just wondered if there were any settings that can maximise range on the EX30?
Many thanks
Is there an Eco setting to maximise range?

I think it is all down to how gentle you are with the accelerator. Braking gently too will maximise regeneration. In general the smoother you are driving the better the range. Keeping the speed down too of course.

Yep it’s Spain or similar. My range has gone from 36kw per 100 miles to 26kw per 100 miles. Nothing has changed apart from a 15 degree rise in temperature recently here in the UK. To put it in perspective summer = 1.8p pm or winter 2.5p pm approx based on using home charger supplied by Octopus energy. So do I really care ? I won’t loose any sleep over that. If I wanted to max my range for a journey then I’d turn off air-con, dump the passengers, use one pedal and check the tyre pressures = eco mode but from previous E cars with Eco mode the gain is so tiny it’s barely worth the pain.
Donny Simm. That wasn’t really my point. I’m not worried about the economy or cost, I’m interested in getting extra miles when on a long journey. For example, in my other EV, I can switch on Eco setting and set the regen to maximum and it makes a huge difference. On a recent journey from Essex to Devon I got an extra 50 miles of range just from that setting as compared to usual ‘comfort’ setting. So my question was does such a setting exist on the EX30. But seemingly not. Another big oversight to add to a long list on this poorly executed car

The economy directly relates to range…
And I’d hardly call it an oversight. It’s common amongst all Volvos to have little or no drive modes. Car handles it all. Shouldn’t need the car to dull the throttle, just drive more gently if you want more range.

Driving gently won’t maximise range as much as dedicated settings and technology will. As per my example, where I was driving gently and using a dedicated setting, a setting which massively increases constant regen, it increasesd range hugely. In my example it was by 50 miles on a journey of 250 miles. Way way more then just “driving gently”. And yes it is a massive oversight. Just because other Volvos don’t have such settings doesn’t make it superfluous. It just makes it yet another thing the EX30 doesn’t have or does very badly.

I was joking mostly and saying just drive the car and enjoy it. This car is awesome so who cares about 50 miles extra. The national network of Tesla chargers alone will get you from one end UK to the other and you can get 50 miles of range in about 4 minutes on said chargers. Eco mode on my other two EVs managed to get about an extra 15 miles of range with massive compromises. And my point if any was I can create those conditions in the EX30 without an Eco button. Air-con off, no passengers, stick to 56mph and tickle the throttle etc etc but for me life’s to short to worry about such things.

I can assure you that no eco mode setting will actually give you 50 miles real extra range (maybe on a GOM), unless it’s heavily limiting top speed and/or performance- both things the driver has control over.MO1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 1:03 pm Driving gently won’t maximise range as much as dedicated settings and technology will. Not yet. That one was supposed to come, during software update, read that somewhere, but can't find it again.MO1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 10:12 am Does anyone know if there is any type of setting available on the EX30 to maximise mileage range?
