Snow chains

I suppose that in northern countries, when the cold weather comes, you switch directly to winter tyres, but does anyone use snow chains? I don't like the classic metal snow chains and prefer the "net chains"( like the "Easygrip" from Michelin)or even the textile ones, but there is no offer of this type of chains for the EX30's size. The TPU ones are complicated to put on and the semi-automatic ones cost around 400€. Does anyone know of a model (not the classic metal chains) that works well?

Only single-sided snow chains are permitted.

Volvo recommends that snow chains are not used on wheel dimensions greater than 18 inches.

Snow chains must only be used on the rear wheels.

I don't like the "socks" or the "nets". And I don't really thrust the OEM Volvo or similar singe sided snow chains. So I choose the 18" wheels with snow tyres and will check If there is enough clearance to mount regular snow chains despite the indication in the manual.

Living in Switzerland, it is a good option. Here(Spain) almost nobody uses winter tires and if you don't ski or live in the mountains, it is possible that years go by without needing chains... but the day you need them, you either have them or you don't get through. Here it used to be mandatory to carry chains in the trunk, a long time ago. Before, when it still snowed sometimes. If you find something interesting, I would refer you to let me know. Thanks
