But that's not the welcome screen (the one which comes on all by itself when you open the car), and that goes away as soon as you engage drive.
The one you have when you are moving is the quick settings screen that you have to open by pressing it's hidden button.
This buttons always worked in the quick settings screen since it was installed. They did not work as they were greyed outin the welcome screen (that was part of 1.4.2 update. People had want them to work so they could change those settings on opening before they moved off, but couldn't.
The question is, has 1.4.3 fixed this or not?

You’re in park when the welcome screen is displayed. Those buttons are unavailable when in park. You can see from my image above that even on the quick settings screen they are unavailable when in park.
So I imagine they will continue to be unavailable in 1.4.3 but let’s see.
I got all excited there for a moment. Can’t fathom the logic of not being able to switch them off from the welcome page but being able to from the almost identical settings page?

You can’t switch them off if you’re in park! It’s nothing to do with whether you are on the welcome screen or settings screen.
The welcome screen is a different screen that only appears when you unlock the car. It disappeared as you select D or R, and you cannot get it back again (until you unlock the car again.
Therefore it can only be used in P before you move off.
It offers you settings to change before you move off, so that you can set the car up as you want it to be while stationary. But that is our complaint, they are greyed out and you can't use them.
What is the point of showing you buttons that you can never ever, ever use because they don't work when parked, and the screen is only there when parked.
Catch 22.
We had hoped that this new bug in 1.4.2 would be fixed in 1.4.3 - but evidently not.
Maybe 2.4.3 is only 1.4.2 but tweaked so that it can install better?

Does seem a bit counterintuitive. Why would Volvo not want you to set the car up for the journey before moving out of park. The inference is that once in drive you are underway so that would seem a less safe time to make adjustments like switching off lane keeping? As you say it is irritating that the switch is there but greyed out. Disappears when drive is selected so the menu then needs to be brought back up to make the selection. Well we can only raise it with Volvo as this is definitely in their gift to change.

Thank you, so now you can disable Lane Keeping and Driver Monitoring from the Welcome Screen ( you couldn't in 1.4.2).
Now to add an AWD button to this screen !
Unfortunately, after updating to version 1.4.3 it is still not possible to block the "Lane Keeping Assist" and "Driver Alert" features from the Welcome Screen.
