Following the software update the car won’t charge to 90% by 5:30 am. The Ohme app knows that I am using the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff but only charged to 71% by 5:30 am which is on the Ohme schedule. Is this because the departure time is set for 8:00 am despite the fact that the Ohme app recognizes the tariff?
Can I just treat the Ohme charger as a dumb charger, plug the car in and rely on the car pulling power from 11:30-05:30. Any help would be appreciated.
Ohme charger & Octopus intelligent Go
Yes this is easy to do.
I use a OHME Home Pro as a dumb charger only charging during my supplier's cheap rate.
I don't know the Octopus tariff, but from your post I understand that you have a set price cheap rate from 2330 to 0530 and want to restrict charging to the period.
On the OHME app, go to the settings menu and check that the timings of the cheap rate are correct and that a price is shown. If not edit them.
Then go to the 'charging' menu and change 'dynamic charging' to OFF
Then, still on the 'charging' menu, set the price cap to the cost your cheap rate is shown as.
Still on the 'charging' menu, make sure that it shows 'charge to full' and 'ready as soon as possible' (it should if the dynamic charging is off).
Your OHME is now a dumb charger. Each time you plug in the car it will set to start charging a few minutes after your cheap rate starts and stop charging a few minutes before it ends. The car will stop accepting charge when it reaches the limit you set in the car.

As you're on Octopus Intelligent Go (as are we), hasn't Octopus recognised the Ohme charger and put you onto their EV rate? It was automatic for us (with a Zappi charger). Now Octopus know we have an EV charger, we can plug in ay time (and not just 2330 onwards). If there is spare cheaper power, the Octopus app sets up a charging schedule that takes that into account and will charge during various periods before 2330. Sometimes its even immediate. Any time Octopus controls the charging the price is 7p, so the whole house benefits from that cheaper rate during those charge sessions and not just during the night.
2024 Volvo EX30 Ultra SMER - Cloud Blue / Breeze - 1.4 (Car), 1.6.1 (App) - UK
I'm the same as Graham - the octopus app talks to our Tesla app and because we charge via a 3 pin plug, we get great scheduling.
I have an Ohme charger inbound due to us now possessing a 2nd EV (EX30) and I hope the Octopus scheduling is the same with the Ohme charger!!

Worth just adding that the 7p Octopus rate isn't going up in the October price rises recently announced.Graham wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 8:25 am As you're on Octopus Intelligent Go (as are we), hasn't Octopus recognised the Ohme charger and put you onto their EV rate? My Ohme charger and octopus have been working perfectly….. until the new software update…
Then it didn’t want to charge the car…
I have unpaired the car and then paired it again and hopefully that has fixed it…. I will know for definite tonight if it charges to 90%….

Soooo….
89……88……89…… but never 90%? Why not?
The Volvo app appears to interfere with the Ohme app…. I think I might remove the intelligent charging…..
