Buying Volvo EX30 from China
Unfortunately, my local Volvo dealership in Armenia offered the car at a very high price so I am getting my EX30 directly from China. I paid the deposit 2 months ago, now I am about to make the final payment however the dealer is asking an extra fee for changing the language of the car from Chinese to English and “activating” the multimedia claiming that this can’t be done outside of China. So my question is – Is this true? Is it impossible to change the language and to activate multimedia if you have purchased the car in one country but then you own/use the car in another?
I have no clue but isn't the china version using a different kind of charging connector ? how are you going to deal with that ? why not buy the car from another european country and import it from there ? germany already has lightly used ones for very good prices ( mobile.de ).
Is this a scam?
Will there be a demand for extra shipping fees next.
Will there then be a demand for payment of customs fees?
Do you really trust the seller?
And even if the car arrives as promised, will it actually work?
China uses GB/T charging cables. They look like European Type 2 plugs, but they are not compatible.
Will the built in E-sim for a Chinese Internet provider be compatible with Armenia's telephone and internet providers? If it is will you be able to get a provider willing and able to give the car access to Volvo's servers and with the Internet in general?
This car will have been purchased outside of Volvo's direct selling model (where Volvo, not the dealer, decides the price of the car in any particilar market and supplies the car direct to the customer via a local dealer) will Volvo recognise it as lawfully supplied in Armenia? As a result, Volvo offer any warranty? Or any Volvo technical assistance at all?
What software version will it have installed? If you can't get any Internet access or any Volvo technical assistance through a dealer, you may have no access to software updates (and even in the UK some cars have been delivered with obsolete software requiring immediate updating).

Is the EX30 you bought an international version? The cars sell in China is a Chinese version that do not apply to traffic regulations in Armenia. Besides, the 5G network is serviced by China Unicom in China, i am not sure if it still work in Armenia. However, assembly plants of GEELY do assembly international version of EX30 in China.
