Well as the title suggest on the rare occasion previously when you'd walk away with the proximity sensor and the key card the car would not lock itself, today within a space of 10 minutes it's done it twice already..

I do hope Volvo get their shit together.

It looks like you have a problem vehicle and should take it back to the dealer for them to look at. I have zero issues with this functionality on mine.

Do you mean Key Card or Key Tag? The car will never lock itself if you walk away with just the Key Card.

I think the "remote" is one of the significant weaknesses of the EX30, it's really poor. In 2024 to not have a remote key fob, and even if you have the "free" tag they give you, to not have a push button to lock is dreadful.

Never even noticed that it's supposed to lock its-self if you walk away lol, I will have to test that out.
Unlocking it when I approach works like a charm, but the opposite I've never tried.

If you walk away with the key fob it will single lock.

If you touch the driver's door handle while standing beside the car it will double lock.

Double locking is more secure than single locking.

Actually, mine on many occasions won't do either.. And as of late it seems to be doing it more and more frequently when the car just stays unlocked which is not helpful as I am in a very warm climate and the air-conditioning is blasting away which intern consumes energy.

Our proximity locking is as enthusiastic as ever. I generally touch the handle to lock when leaving it out in public more for the confirmation that it’s locked rather than anything else. I’ve turned off the annoying beep and find it hard to determine if the wing mirrors are folded or not from distance.
