GPS Issues

They finished my car today and said the GPS problem looks fixed with the DHU reload. I picked my car up and turned on the map as I exited the dealership parking lot. I immediately noticed that the map showed me 2 blocks from the dealership!!! I laughed out loud. Less than 6 hours after they said it is fixed, the problem showed up in their freaking lot! I drove home while recording video of the map showing that the position stayed 2 blocks or around 500m offset from where I was. As always, it showed me driving over houses through parks and orthogonally across roads! In my garage, it showed me a couple blocks away in someone's front yard.

They had my car for 7 days and fixed nothing. The only useful information I got from the 7 days without my car is that Volvo removed the speed limit recognition, but didn’t tell Volvo customer service or the Volvo service centers!

I have already booked my car back into the shop next week. I guess I'll just keep booking it back in until I can get my money back on Lemon law? I don't know how else to put any pressure on them to fix the issues.

New dealer only update 1.5.3.
Hopefully to fix this

FURTHER UPDATE

Just had this from VOLVO SUPPORT.
It worked straight away.
I will see for how long.

the customer can try clearing the Cache from the Maps App and forcing a stop of the app to reboot it.

In the car settings go to system > applications > show all apps > select the Maps app. There should be an option to clear the cache and force a stop. Carry this out and then test the navigation again

FYI. Since update 1.52 CarPlay has been broken in my EX30. (You can’t hear a caller, local dealer has tried and can’t fix it). I have been forced to disconnect CarPlay and use the Google OS to take calls and I note the built in Maps App has not shown the GPS issue.
EX30 Performance Plus - Ice blue - Beta 1.52. Suzuki Jimny Mk4 - Ivory/Black. Mini Cooper EV 1 - Silver/Black.

AndyP, I haven't heard anything from support about this GPS issue. How did you get them to give you a tip about clearing the maps cache? I'll try it the next time the problem shows up, but I think it is a problem with the TCAM2 and not something in the infotainment stack.

Tried resetting TCAM2.
FAULT CAME BACK
Rang Volvo Support.
Spoke to Amanda a lady who had helped me before.
She said she would speak to technical for a fix.
Then came back with the result.
So far 36 hours working fine.

En wat moest je doen om tot een goed resultaat te komen met je GPS?
Misschien handig dat je dat ook vermeld!

I have underground parking and my gps is broken since 1.5.2. My gps shows me around 1km away from my real position every time I start driving. Sometimes it fixes itself in 15 min today it took 45

Still getting issues.
I just look at the app now and agin to see where the car is then know action will be needed before the next drive..
My routine is
1); infotainment resets.
2) Clear map app cache and force stop.
3) TCAM reset. Press and hold SOS button for 30 to 35 seconds allow itself to reset and come back on and light up.
SO.
Dealer visit due sometime for 1.5.3.
The answer was dealer only as potential for errors OTA so dealer can re set and potential for heavy lead acid battery drain. So dealer can connect aux power.

My car went back into the shop a couple times for this issue. Last time, they replaced the TCAM2! Unfortunately, I don't have cellular DATA now and I'm going back in the shop on Wednesday! Replacing the TCAM2 is supposed to fix several of my problems. So far, I know that it doesn't fix my app connectivity problems because it is behaving exactly the same. It's too early to say whether or not it fixes the GPS problems. I was seeing the problem once a day, and they saw it in the shop. I'm pretty sure the TCAM replacement won't fix the problems, but I'll report back after they fix my new cellular data problem.
