1.5.2 update
On my first Tesla I could not charge at home on the 220V circuit I had installed. Long story short it was the mobile charger that came with the car. They swapped it out and everything was fine.

I suspect that it is the car and may have something to do with the CHANGE in rate of charging. Over winter when solar charging, speeds were low eg- 2 to 4kW say. During this excellent late March and early April, it has been taking a steady 7kW+ in the bright sun but if for example a cloud passes in front of the sun it will drop down to 2kW for example before immediately going back up to 7+kW. I think it is something like this that is making the car go in to "safety" mode and stopping the charge. As the car charges or has been charging normally at 7.4kW on cheap electricity over night- with is of course at a steady rate of speed overall. If all the other EVs we can charge are not affected in the same way while solar charging, then it will be a car software or charge port problem. Car going in on Thursday. Will see what Volvo say.

Here in the Netherlands, you have charging stations that charge dynamically. Not all of them, fortunately. That is, when there is high demand for power, the charging station provides less power. My previous car, a Honda e, it always stopped charging then because it got too little power. Maybe this Volvo too. Just haven't experienced it yet.

Hello MarkyMark
Since installing 1.5.2 I have had a similar problem with our car on solar charging. Before the update, if the solar output fell to below the 1.4Kw charging threshold and then climbed above this, the car restarted charging and didn't require monitoring. After 1.5.2, if the solar output drops below 1.4Kw (6A) the screen shows "Cable Unlocked" and stops. When the sun shines again, sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't. Reboot the screen starts it again. Whilst it is showing "Cable Unlocked" there is a flashing green charging symbol by the cable but no power input registered on the screen. Like all good software errors, it doesn't seem to be consistent, which makes you look stupid when explaining the fault to the workshop. However it's going in for this and intermittent locking problems next week so I'll update you then.

Yes, seen the same messages such as "cable disconnected" or even the cable disappearing from the app icon when plugged in and then reappearing again. And like you said, the car port still pulsing as if on charge but not taking on any electrons. Until either unlocking and locking the car to re-set it. Or unplugging and re-plugging in again.
However it has failed to charge on high solar (6kW+) in early March and that was before the latest big software update. The charging failures have just become very frequent but also inconsistent since 1.5.2 but also during the incredible amount of sunny days we had in the UK these last 3 weeks. Will see what Volvo say tomorrow.

Well, a rather depressing and wholly disappointing and fully expected visit to my dealer for my car's intermittent fault while solar charging via my Zappi. Booked in on time at 9am.Car taken in by 10.25am. I had filled out a "pre-visit" pro forma with screen shots attached when I booked the appointment- detailing what the issue was, with screen shots of all the "Charge failure" notifications on my app and the car dash, times and dates etc.
I waited there at the dealership as I could go for a walk in the area. Noticed on my app that the car was on charge. Arrived on 61% and car was now on 88% 2+ hours later.
Went back to the dealership at noon for some feedback. Technician would come out and talk to me. His first question: "So what is the issue exactly, with your car?".
"Have you read the pre visit notes and photos I sent. "No" he replies. "That would have gone to the admin staff" he says...
Has the car logged all the faults for charge failure? I ask. He has not seen any, he says. I don't think that he had even checked.
I showed him my phone of all the notifications for the past 2 weeks of "charge failure". He looked surprised.
"The car has been on charge for the last 3 hours" he says "and is charging normally" . I replied I KNOW it is charging normally when it is receiving a steady state of charge, as the car has been charging normally via the Zappi since ownership, but during SOLAR charging I explained, when the rate of charge can change rapidly, the car is faulting and stopping the charge.
He had never come across this before. Wanted me to email all of the photos of the notifications to him, (again!) but I was not able to do as their email system took my sent email as potential spam. I told him this and he said he would sort it with admin. Not heard back from them.
One of the salesman who has overheard us speaking, came over and told me that it must be an issue with the house electricity supply or the Zappi. I explained that I have spoken with myenergi who make the Zappi. They logged on to my Zappi- no fault codes on their end. Also I explained, (and I was getting irritable by now), that my Hyundai Ioniq 5 (3+ years and 40,000 miles+) charges just fine on the Zappi during exactly the same circumstances (eg- solar charging) as did our previous Peugeot e-208 (40,000+ miles), BMW i3 (60,000+ miles) and various MG's and Honda's (friend's and family) who have also solar charged on my Zappi!! (FFS!) So it CANNOT be the house electricity supply or the Zappi at fault...
At this stage , the technician said he would re set "all the modules" in the car. Car handed back to be by 2.40pm. I was told if it keeps on happening, then to get back in touch.
Did not bother to ask them about any software updates due. That would have overloaded their minds I suspect.
Was a complete and utter waste of time. Just got my car charged a bit. But in terms of preparation or investigation in to the issue, I think it was a big fat zero.

Back from dealer MarkyMark. No luck with the charging issue with varying levels of solar charging causing the system to disconnect the cable as they cannot simulate that in the dealership. I've updated to 1.5.3 so maybe that will help - who knows?

Yep. No better here either Only happens at high states of charge. If cloudy/dark and solar charging then seems fine and fine overnight at high rates of charge but that is STEADY state charging. The issue persists with high kW solar charging. The car will just need a software tweak i suspect to stop it disengaging a charge when it detects a variance in the Kw input when solar charging.
