Just want to post this for any potential buyers that are on here ignore the neg stuff that I bought into on YouTube as I nearly bailed on getting an EX. I watched over 200 reviews before buying my EX I’m so glad I decided to go ahead. This car is superb it’s a disruptive car that is streets ahead of anything I’ve owned or driven to date. And I’ve driven a lot of cars I’m a car enthusiast and I’ve owned in excess of 100 cars and nothing comes close for me not even the German stuff. This car raises the bar even in the world of EV’s for me I struggle to imagine what’s going to come along anytime soon or later to match the EX. For me it is a complete car it ticks all the boxes. Typically I’ll get two cars a year because I get bored but for now a see this as a ten year car unless it starts to fade or throw up faults. Below are a few of the YouTube reviewers common complaints that turned out to be rubbish:
1- No speedo in front of the driver = doesn’t matter it takes 30 seconds to get used to the speedo on the tablet and personally I prefer it. Defo not an issue.
2- Steering too light = not rely it’s perfectly good for normal driving.
3- One pedal function to light =again not rely it’s perfectly good and I prefer it to the Polstar that nearly puts you through the window. It’s very subtle but I rarely need to apply the brakes. Does the job.
3- Harman Kardon badge reflection in the windscreen = 1st world problem if you could call it that. Only if you’re looking at it which you can’t anyhow because the attention thingy will be beeping. And it’s the only reflection, normally, in fact all other cars I’ve driven you can see the entire dash reflected in the windscreen. This is the only car I’ve had where you can’t see the dash not even sure how Volvo have achieved that.
4- Adjusting the mirrors takes two or three steps = who cares you only do it once when you buy the car. Possibly an issue for multiple drivers but I you don’t attempt it as your driving along again not a biggy. Do it before you start the journey.
There are loads more like this but rely they are just nitpicking from pandered pussycat reviewers who get a car for a day.
Should you go ahead and buy shortlist or avoid, big up to Mat Watson, he liked this car very much BTW = BUY definitely.
Don’t waste 50 hours on YouTube like I did.
Ignore the nay sayers on YouTube get this car.
I like mine too.
Agree on the mirrors. One reviewer just sat there in the car and ranted for 5 minutes about the mirrors. I mean, come on FFS, I haven't adjusted mine in 18,000 miles so I don't need a little switch.
There are definitely some little niggles about the car in general, and some software bugs but I really like it.

It’s true but trust me they’re not all top end or brand new. Last four cars Mokka E 2023 plate then Vauxhall Agila 2010 plate, Micra 2011 plate and EX30 2024 plate. That’s covers the 24 months. Hopefully I’m sticking with the EX don’t see any possible replacements out there for now. And I need to stop buying cars. Thankfully I’ve not lost much some I’ve even made money on.

None of the points you mention bother me much either.
1- No speedo in front of the driver: There is very little difference between glancing slightly sideways at the speedo compared to glancing down. But a HUD would be nice.
2- Steering too light: For me it’s too light, lacks feel and is a bit low geared but it’s good enough for normal driving.
3- One pedal function too light: It could be made adjustable but it’s good enough.
4- Harman Kardon badge reflection in the windscreen: It’s lack of attention to detail by Volvo but it’s easily fixed with 3D printed cover or a felt tipped pen. It would be better if it were deleted.
5- Adjusting the mirrors takes two or three steps: Not an issue, adjust them once while stationary and there is no need to adjust them again. But they should dip in reverse.
Things that are annoying:
1- The useless ‘Home’ screen.
2- Too many button presses and scrolling through screens required to turn on the fog lights, four-wheel drive, hill decent and most of the other things you might need to adjust while driving.
2- The safety systems are too sensitive - focus on the road, take a break etc.
3- The random emergency braking and less often spontaneous acceleration (nothing to do with ACC).
4- The useless road sign recognition and the adapt to speed limit cruise control.
5- The lane keeping assist and shaky steering.
6- The lane change assist is something I would never trust.
7- The parking assist is a bit of a party trick but is so slow that by the time the car moves someone else has parked in the space.
I could go on but won’t bother. Generally, the EX30 is poorly equipped and is full of hard, cheap feeling plastic, but worst of all is the appalling software. But it could be worse, I contacted Zeekr to ask where I could buy a Zeekr X all-wheel drive - they didn’t bother to reply.

Donny - calm down. What EV cars have you had before the EX30. Have you tried several?
I have lived with and tested the following:
IoniQ5
Polestar2
ID4
Tesla M3
EX30.
I bought the last two. Head and complete and utter shoulders above all of the above is (and remains so) - the Tesla LR AWD M3.
{I only bought the EX30 because it was cheap as chips and would allow a tow bar for my bikes - otherwise there'd be a 2nd Tesla in our drive.
Whats your EV experience...............

Glad you are enjoying your new wheels Donny. We are getting along very nicely with ours too. Car has its niggles like every car I suppose. Some find these a bother which is fair enough. Each to their own.
