Christmas Update Wishlist

I want heating that works, faster AWD access and most importantly for AWD to work in reverse (which at the moment it seems that it doesn't).

About dashcam recording, every manufacturer that offers this feature asks you to plug an usb drive for recording. Volvo was to cheap to put in a data port anywhere in the car so ...

p.s. there might be a hidden data enabled usb somewhere in the car but we'll explore that in 3 years when it goes out of warranty

My list:
- also "I would love to have the facility of activating the main headlights quicker, rather than fumbling through a few unnecessary clicks to achieve this...". This because the automatically activating of the headlights is often too late
- the ability (so a setting) to avoid an activated "Pilot Assist" when you activate ACC. As I found it annoying the car wants to try driving in the middle of a lane. I prefer to choose myself where in the lane I'm driving
- A better working climate-control. On several topics on this forum one can read that the only way to have a 'high enough' temperature, is to set the temperature to High (+ 28 degrees) and the blower to Medium
- On same 'climate control' settings: the ability to choose the airflow to go 'and' to the windscreen, 'and' to the feet. As mostly I have cold feet when driving

My wish list:
Make all the software more stable-the app,CarPlay etc. Sometimes the car links up, sometimes not. Just annoying. Tel favourites sometimes there. Sometimes not.
Tilting N|S wing mirror when reversing so you can see the kerb.
A shortcut to turn off the headlights or On. Takes about 4 button presses, such as when sitting in the car in a dark car park,(eg- when charging or waiting for wife who has popped in to shops) the lights stay on. You have to go in to "Car" , then "Settings", "lighting menu" All choices" Then press "Off" under the headlights setting. Then press "OK" on the steering wheel. Bloody idiotic. On every other car, you just twiddle a dash mounted switch or stalk end! Have tried using voice control, but the interface does not allow that.
I am sure there are plenty others on my wish list..

Martin your wish list is near perfect! I agree with the entire list!

I also have a few software/app issues like needing to select amazon music twice before it starts to play music, and sometimes I need to reconnect my phone to make Carplay work.

And on a positive note - It is a beautiful car to drive with great suspension, ride and handling.

My wish would be
- What about a winter mode, i do not need the AWD with the performance in a snowy condiotion with the 428HP.
- Notification popup when there is cold weather outside (and not only the little snow flake behind the temperature)
- Working wipers then it is snowing

I used the AWD mode in the snow last week and I was smiling to myself as on the one hand I liked the sure footedness of 4 wheel drive at motorway speeds when the white stuff started to settle. On the other hand, I really didn’t need the 0-62 mph supercar acceleration nor the loss of range.
A ‘dumbed down’ AWD winter mode is a great idea; ideally with full blast heater, seats and steering wheel as I had it at 24 celcius and it was flipping freezing inside the car!?

Tesla always had the best Xmas software updates, from turning your avatar into Santa, the model 3 into a sleigh etc
Somehow I don’t think Volvo engineers have the humour nor their software geeks the skill to do such things.
Instead, all I want for Xmas this year, is Volvo to buy back my EX30 due to poor software, lack of features (as sold) and terrible real world range nowhere near the claimed figures (and I know what I’m talking about as I’ve had the model 3 and EV9 both with heat pumps who get better miles / kwh despite being bigger and heavier

I would like normal heating system (too cold when it is under 0 celsius). Mostly i want that my car internet connection would stay always on, it just annoying that it just keeping goes offline every other day and without TCAM reset would not start working again although showing 3G or 4G coverage. Interesting is that also that there is no 3G coverage anymore available from servise provider

Digital Key via Phone –I need that!

Dash Cam mode that records via the front, rear and side cameras – It’s difficult to understand why this isn’t standard or even an option, the cameras are there so how hard could it be? Probably too hard for Volvo. When the Zeeker X (same platform) detects an "emergency event" it sends a buffered amount of before video and then some after the event too. It would be SO easy if the car had an SD slot, right? Maybe even using the front USB C slots.

Ability to enable Performance Mode via the steering wheel hotkey, or have it remember if it was on between drives. I need this feature, for sure.

Stronger OPD, and OPD in performance mode. Yes, why not although there are other things I’d like more; being able to turn the fog lights on without searching through various menus while trying to drive for instance. I also would really like variable OPD controls, I'd like a more aggressive setting.
