I wonder if this is a heat pump issue.

My car doesn't have a heat pump and, although I rarely have the heating on, it seems to work when I do use it.

It seems the standard one is the only EX30 model with a decent heating without having a heatpump. It wouldn’t surprise me if energy usage is also a lot less. The heatpump in my ultra uses up to 7 kWh/100 km with temperatures around 3 - 5 degrees.

ASHPs are fitted generally because they are a more efficient system on a ev vehicle. It does seem odd that some ASHP cars seem to be afflicted more than others. Some will have a defect but probably not all.

I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere else and usually Volvo announce updates three weeks before they are released so they are cutting it fine for anything this year.

My dealer says NO
As a previous post of you have any other 1.4 versions 1.4.4 is just those and previous.
It does not sort the heating

My dealer proved it is not working properly. There are other cars too. Now waiting for Volvo to investigate
Cheers Andy!

All the tests at the dealers show it is inefficient and not reaching or holding temperature.
Data submitted to VOLVO. Other customers same issues.
Collected car. Drove home really fine and warm. 30 minutes later blew ice cold, car misted up. Stopped fan betc etc etc Then ran Luke warm to feet and cool to face.
Normally okay.
Gonna have to wait.
V1.4.4 available but my car is up to date with 1.4.2.
Didnt happen to the techie see.
Cheers Andy!

Is it a software issue Andy?

No help to you but mine is exactly the same. Turning on the climate control from the app really doesn’t do anything apart from running the fan. Once in the car, and that can take a while if it decides it doesn’t want to unlock the doors, then the fan speeds up and slows down every few seconds with no noticeable difference in temperature. The fan speed stabilises after our body heat has warmed the air slightly then after a while the car mists up and I have to turn on maximum defrost and hope that the draft clears it.

Wow Thanks Geoff.
Exactly that. Techie thinks it is software and submitted all the data to VOLVO. (DON'T hold your breath)
What's with this speeding up and slowing down thing. It changes note like it is alternating between RECIRCULATE and FULL FLOW
Bonkers.
I have sent notes to the techie wondering why he never noticed all this.
Analysing all this this from my perspective too.
It occurred after 20 to 30 minutes every drive for the last 3 weeks.

And yes opening the car. It also kicks off with a loud noisy fan. This is my second car. The last one did not do anything like thatthat.
Appreciate the feedback.
Cheers Andy!
