Hi.
I mostly charge my EX30 at home, but when I need to have used a combination of Tesla and other rapid chargers. Despite preconditioning I’ve never experienced charging rates over 65 KW’s. I wondered if this is normal and if not suggestions welcome. Thanks
DC Chargjng
Nop. No normal at all. That should only happen if you're charging with a high battery level. If you're just starting the charge, around 15-20% it should start at 150-155kW and progressively decrease depending on the battery charge percentage. If it were a shared charger it wouldn't be illogical, but Teslas are individual chargers and usually give the car's peak charge. I practically only charge in Teslas, so I've tried quite a few and except for one case (I was charging at 25kW) they've always worked OK.

I used the v4 supercharger at Tesla in Solihull and added 20kwh in 10 mins at approx 40% battery on my EX30 ultra (or 2kw added per minute without much in the way of conditioning though was summer). Quickest my previous model 3 charged at a V3 charger was approx 2.5miles a minute but that was from 20% with conditioning but deep in December!
Like me, batteries perform better in warmer climates!

I live in Thailand. Since having the Ultra TM, I’ve only seen the car activate precondition while DC charging (I’ve only charged 3 times thus far to 90%). Is this normal?
Also for efficiency does the battery operate better in mid 30C temp then say colder countries when running??
