In 23 years my old RAV driving on forest tracks, trails, riverbeds...never have a puncture but Murphy's Law Is capricious. Really never change my wheels in Toyota, as you said I always look for cheaper places to go, choosing the wheel type and brand I want, and not the one with which the brand has a commercial agreement. Thanks Geoff for the infoGeoff wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 7:53 pmIf you keep the TPMS sensor in the same position on the car no synchronization is required. Volvo use the same tyre fitting equipment as any other garage, the only difference is they probably charge more. But you might get a cup of coffee.Harald wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 6:27 pmDo you know what happens with the installation and synchronization of the TPMS if you install the tires outside of Volvo? It seems that this procedure is a bit tricky and not every repair shop can do it, but I have never had cars with direct or indirect TPMS.OrganMorgan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 5:13 pm.
5. If you need new tyres, it is cheaper to organise them online even if you then take it to a depot to be done. Not everyone realises this nd imagines the same outfit will have the same prices offline as it does online - an expensive mistake! So, with ATS Euromaster, for example - find and order tyres online and book an appointment at your local depot... don't just rock up and say, "Two new tyres please!" because you'll pay full price. ATS (and other fitters) usually have offers on with people like Michelin, Goodyear etc, if you're buying 2 or 4... but... all in all, it is probably best on a premium vehicle to stick with the originally specified tyres when it comes to replacement. I expect that's an arguable point, but when it comes to trading in, a dealership MAY check.

This was exactly my experience including the Halfords inflator and feeding the cable through the car. To be fair to Halfords , the cable length is pretty generous.gloucester wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 3:52 pm Mine was delivered in May with 44psi. I dropped it to around 39psi.
When the weather got colder I did a check and it was down to around 32-34psi - no WARNING !!!!!
I've put them up to 39psi again using my own Halfords compressor, since I haven't unpacked the Volvo one. It's an automatic compressor but it too was having trouble finding the set pressure - something that doesn't happen on the motorbike.
I could only JUST reach the right front tyre and that was by feeding the lead in a direct line through the car with the back seats dropped.
Mine was delivered at 44psi and I reduced it down to 40. I did find over the summer, the pressure varied quite a bit depending on the ambient temperature. I think the recommended tyre pressures are quite high (heavy car) and a small change in temperature leads to a large change in pressure (maybe some made up physics there).
