I’ve just tried to take out ALA Gap insurance with the 10% forum discount but it defaults to a 5% summer sale code.
I cant delete it and it won’t let me input the forum code.
Anyone else had this?

You can get 15% off ALA if you use the link on Martin Lewis's Money Saving Expert website - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insur ... insurance/

@lindis - Non At all, other than I've used them for my last 4 cars, they seem reasonable value and are recommended by other (non commercial interest) people.
I've never needed to claim, and hopefully never will so have no direct experience if they are good when you actually need them.

I have tended to go with ALA because of the discount. Originally one could get 25% with AA or RAC membership, I think. Then, my daughter wrote off her near new Clio - (not a difficult thing to do since I am led to understand that deployment of the airbags means a write-off) - and ALA did everything it says on their tin, very quickly and easily. She was back on the road in a new Polo very quickly. They are also very friendly and un-corporate to deal with, I have found. I would say that anyone driving a car on a PCP needs GAP insurance, but very hard to imagine you need to pay dealer's prices on this. NitramA's comments fit entirely with my own experience but for the fact that I've made a claim.

OrganMorgan, good to know that your choice is proven....I have tended to use TotalLossGap as I have a combined GAP and cosmetic cover (alloys and bodywork and upholstery) that is transferable to another car if you change your car early into the contract and you can also get a refund for unused portions of the policy if you don't transfer. It was also cheaper than ALA. However all I have claimed for over the past 10 years was an alloy repair. I can understand your sticking with ALA and the info is good to know, thanks.
