2500 miles into ownership, and my average kWh/100 miles has now gone down to 31.2 kWh/100.

Is that good or bad?

Where are you all at?

Is that the official figure calculated by the car, or an actual figure of kWh put into the car?

Due to energy loss due to resistance, heat creation during charging, energy used by the heat pump to cool the battery during charging, and the process of rectifying AC to DC, the actual energy taken from the charger to charge the car is 10% to 12% more than what the battery takes in.

I rarely look at the car's figures. When I do it varies from 27 to 45 kWh/100 miles.

My own figures show that over 6000 miles, I have averaged 33 kWh/100 miles (probably about 30 by Volvo's reckoning)

Still, each mile only costs about 33% of an ICE petrol cost and about 30% of CO2 produced (that figure is based on the UK's energy mix) so in reality the actual efficiency is really nothing to get upset or excited about, even if it is interesting.

Not very economical! Sticking to max 65mph and accelerating very gently gets me around 220 miles in summer, 190 miles in cooler weather (probably worse in middle of winter). That’s for SMER.

App says 29.4kwh but I think that’s a recent average rather than over the whole 4000 miles because I’ve seen it go up and down quite a lot.

How do you find the total or average consumption?

My charger's (not the car's figures) kWh inputs average at about 33 kWh/100 miles.

The car gives me a typical range estimate on a 90% charge of between 220 and 230 miles. (And then after a day doing about 145 miles it is typically showing 80 miles left, indicating an estimate of 225 would have been correct )

Ah, Ok. I thought there was some section in the menus, hidden behind layers and layers. I will try it with the charger, although it does not give me estimated consumption, but of course, on highway trips I mostly use external chargers so it is difficult for me to include that part of the consumption...which is the one with the highest consumption. It would be useful if there was a section on total consumption, even if it were for the car that does not include losses, transformations, etc.

Looking only at the car's consumption, it gives me day-to-day consumption (urban and ring road and some highway) around 14-16 kWh/100km and 18-21 on the highway alone. In miles in daily consumption 22-25.5 and on the highway 29-33. Here we are still above 20ºC and I have changed my way of driving to a more conservative way...and it shows.

Thanks SP1959

I didn't buy this car for range - in fact 69Kwh tells you it won't be generous.
Secondly - I enjoy the performance primarily and after only 2000 miles - it's panning out around 210 mile range.

I needed a real life range of at least 150 miles (not every day, once or twice a week), so I reckoned that a WTLP range of 297 should get me at least 200 in real life.

It does, and I am more than happy.

Day to day I can manage on cheap home charging, expensive DC charging only needed for holidays and over-nights away.

Average about 22kWh/100km with 50/50 mix of motorway and urban driving.

My average over the last 8000 miles (13500km) is an average consumption of 22.72kwh/100miles or 14.2kwh/100km. This is with a SMER plus in South Africa. Just charged the car for a drive to Pretoria tomorrow (100miles return) and at 90% the car is indicating a range of 452km or 282miles.
