I've tried to get a wheel trim off.
I gave up!
The outside edges came out easily but the centre was solid - no give at all. I decided not to risk bending one and have thus left it until someone posts the method!
I don't have a picture of the inside of an 18" trim to understand how it grips on. Possibly needs a short stick as a release lever.

With no spare supplied I think the expectation is that it will be recovery or tyre shop operatives doing the removing.

Those 20s without aero covers look great, but might be a nightmare the clean and with no auto reversing wing mirrors I would be scared to scuff them.
Not worth losing what isn’t a huge amount of range anyway I suspect so happy with my 21s which thanks to this post proves the aero covers for once actually improve the look and the range!

I pulled the center out using both hands and grabbing the hub from both sides and as close as I could to its center.gloucester wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 9:22 am I've tried to get a wheel trim off.

Hubs are clipped on by small clasps held in place by a metal ring. Takes a firm tug but if you feel you're putting in too much of a fight (don't ask ne how much that is ), don't do it.
On the other hand, the car will probably not give you much of a reason to have to change a tyre yourself, so unless you want to check out the aesthetics (which you can do in the picture sent a few messages ago), I wouldn't try too hard.
Have fun!

The cruicial point is if the tire dealer will be able to remove and to put back the plastic covers without damaging it, particularly the clasps...
I know how sometimes the people work in a hurry at the tire shops...

I haven’t yet had too, but topping up tyre pressure on the Tesla used to require the aero covers being removed.
This proves a bit of a nightmare at Tesco as you line up for the compressor and if you’ve put your money in, you have to offer a F1 style pit to run around and remove the wheel covers to access the dust covers on the air intake!
Please tell me I don’t need to do this with my 21s on the Volvo?!

Wow, you guys have to pay for air? How is that done, pay for a volume of air? Or for x time with the air hose? Thank goodness here in South Africa its still free.SeX30 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 9:30 am I haven’t yet had too, but topping up tyre pressure on the Tesla used to require the aero covers being removed.
