We keep our cars garaged. Yesterday I treated the upholstery with Scotchgard and left the windows open overnight to air out the solvent.

I have received a phone notification today from the car saying it is going to rain so the windows have been closed. It is in a garage!!! I wonder which forecast it uses?

Righttttttt, I'd say that's rather impressive.

Remember you're it's human owner who knows it's in the garage!

The car has drawn a conclusion from three facts: 1) it's lateral (GPS) location 2) the weather forecast for that area 3) the windows are open.

Give it a few years for AI to develop and you may be content! ;)

I think it's endearing behavior. Is just like a mother. She just needed to remind you to bring an umbrella. :)

As an amateur forecaster for many, many years I am intrigued as to where it is getting its forecasts from. It is clever but not clever enough as there are no forecasts for rain here today and it is unlikely to do so.

The car is brighter than many people I have met especially online.

A woman told me she would not buy an EV as she was sure to drive off with it still plugged in!

Believe me, I used to worry about that before I got it. I'm a complete scatterbrain. Even now, I've sometimes started the car with the tailgate open and the rubber plugs hanging out until I looked in the rearview mirror. I'm not very bright either :)

This occured to me too, but in my case this behavior is hardly acceptable.

I left my car in the garage and left fom my 4 weeks vacation.
As usual I left the windows open but after 3 or 4 days I got a notification in the app that the windows have been closed for risk of rain, but without asking for my consent.
So my EX30 has the windows closed in a hot and humid environment since almost four weeks ago...

Interesting to read about Kathy Scotchguarding her seats. I have the Mist interior and am concerned about marks etc especially as, presumably, the fabric is pervious. Has anyone tried any other product to protect their interior fabric - door bins etc as well as seat fabric? I have been recommended Gechniq Smart Fabric v3 which seems to be quite a high end product... well, certainly in terms of price. I saw a blog online testing the Turtle Wax equivalent which appeared hopeless. I am particularly keen to make sure there is no residual stickiness or change to the feel of the material afterwards, and no darkening effect. Any experiences out there?

No experience but there's obviously the Volvo dealer option
