However I have noticed that when I try to adjust the ACC spacing to the car ahead from long to medium, sometimes it just switches straight back to long. I need to investigate whether it happens because I have switched off one or more of the safety settings (eg driver alert etc) but has anyone else noticed anything similar?
This was at least a 1.3.1 issue too.
I have this on video - tap medium and within two seconds it's back to long.
Volvo are refusing to publish it at their Facebook group!
I've also had ACC showing "Long" but getting too close to the car in front. Hitting "Medium" INCREASED the distance, and then hitting "Long" INCREASED the distance further.
So the car was operating in "Short" despite showing "Long" - Volvo are also refusing to publish this comment at their Facebook group!

So in the app you have the notification of the 1.4 update but on the EX30 firmware update screen you don't find the notification that the a new firmware is available and can be installed?
In my case I had the notification on the app (Android) but the automatic software update was (and still is) marked as not enabled, however on the EX30 display I could find the update notification of the new firmware availability and the message that it was ready to update: so the update started and completed correctly in about 20 min.
On the Feedback area for the app on Google play many posts an late model late Android version unable to activate/verify the EX30 app. It just hangs like mine does. Works fine on my wifes old S10 but not on the new S24

UPDATE V1.4 DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED 10 PM LAST NIGHT. 20 minutes.
Like the new icons.
Still checking out the radio fade.
Still no active parking brake in Performance mode. Foot has still to remain of footbarake,
Still unable to combine lane keeping assist [? the vibration/alarm one.] It was in the driving ,view more, but now under the driving tab and on or off no ,just alarm,. So simpler with the lane keeping one on the new screen icon. It has however reduced to 6 presses not 12 ish.
They needed to combine them both or add an icon for that one.
It may be a coincidence. large Key fob seems more sensitive and activates car quicker and sooner.
Charging still okay.

Here is a really stupid thing: I can do the same thing using the new screen activated from beside the bluetooth symbol etc (still needs 4 screen presses to get to it (New screen activation - Settings - Driving - Speed Limiter) - BUT ONLY IF THE CAR IS STATIONARY - the "Settings" button is greyed out when driving, and if you try to select it when driving you get a "not available when driving" messsge coming up --- But you can access it when driving by using the car icon at the bottom drivers side of the screen. Why one and not the other.
I want to access it quickly when driving to change between speed limiter in towns and ACC between towns
You can say "OK Google Settings" to save two of those button presses.
Thanks for the tip. I had tried OK Google to go straight to the speed limiter and it hadn't worked. I hadn't thought of going half way. And the thing is OK Google does the two small, hard to navigate when driving buttons - leaving two big easy ones.
Still, the programsble button would be a better option, but in its absence, that is a good help.
