Update 1.4

Well it may depend on what country you're in. Not all places get it immediately.

I had TWENTY notifications before it actually came.

Honestly coming from Tesla I shouldn’t complain about CarPlay as this never had it neither, but I never had Bluetooth disconnection issues in the Tesla so could easily stream tunes via Siri hands free.
Tesla maps and software were decent enough. Tesla iPhone Bluetooth digital key became second nature.
Volvo on the other hand? I’ve had to buy the MagSafe wallet attachment for my phone just so I don’t forget to have the EX30 keycard! And having to swipe it on the contact pad everytime is really annoying when I’m already late to pick up the little one!
Digital key was available day 1 for the Tesla Model 3. Apple can make whole iOS and iPhone updates in the time it’s taken Volvo to update their software to enable a feature that even features in fairly normal cars. My dads Nissan Juke works wired and wireless in CarPlay and that’s only £150 a month on lease!

Availability of wireless CarPlay on Android Automotive (AAOS) equipped cars depends on Google, not on Volvo, as this is an internal functionality of the OS (based on outdated Android 12 on the EX30).
Volvo can't add this by itself.

IMO I can't exclude that to get wireless CarPlay Volvo will be constrained to update the EX30 AAOS to Android 13 or 14 (already released by Google).

Finally last night as I went to bed I noticed my car was going to update to 1.4 - after TWENTY notifications. I've turned the screenshot round here to show you better.

All seems to have gone through without a hitch once initiated.

Hello everyone.

I had the same as others with 12 notifications in the app over three days and no possibility to install it in the app or car.

I contacted the assistance and they told me they couldn't do anything remotely and guided me to the dealership.

But I noticed when I got the notification autodownload was shown as deactivated when starting the app and after restarting the app it always showed autodownload activated.

So after restarting the app when it showed autodownload activated I simply kept the app open in the background and got the installation notification the same afternoon and could update to V1.4

Not sure if it was because of the app still open in the background, but maybe someone wants to try and confirm. Or because they fixed it in the same time.

Is there a way to download it manually ?
I have contacted my dealer, but no response.

Mine has downloaded (nearly...) but is stuck at 99%.
I've tried rebooting the screen and the App but no change.
Anyone suggest a way forward please?

Sorry. A couple of questions if you would be so kind.

If you insert the key card between the protective case and the phone, don't the two NFCs interfere with each other? That is, have you detected if you have problems when paying with the contactless mobile phone and the key card interferes with the payment at the POS in some way? Or if the phone's NFC interferes in some way with the car key reader?
And the other question. Does carrying the card between the phone and the case affect wireless charging? Have you noticed if it gets hot or takes longer to charge.

My dealer just replied. Update only at the dealer in France. Wonder why that is?
Apparently though, the next update after 1.4 is due end of August and should be OTA.
