Hi! I don’t have any info that I know for a fact haha but I do share some of the same experiences!
I get the feeling the car only pulls a certain amount of power depending on the battery charge? I’ve used a variety of chargers mainly 22kw, 50kw and a no pulse 150kw
What I’ve found is it seems the charge gets slower as you near 100%? So for example I’ve found if I’m charging from 20% to 80% it’ll pull 150w on the fast chargers for a small while at the start but this gradually reduces? So by the time you are at 50% it may only be pulling 60kw out of a 150kw charger?
I like you was also confused when I tried to charge from 60% to 90% and the 150w charger was only up to 60kw speed.
So I believe it’s the state of the car before you charge? If you are very low on battery the 150kw ones will achieve they full rate for a decent while
But if you are just topping up - say from 50% onwards there is no point in using one of the higher rated chargers (well unless they are cheaper) and you can just use a 50kw one and it’ll charge at the same speed?
Like you I got confused to begin with as am new to EV! And I assumed you’d get 150kw speed no matter when you charge but it seems dependent on how much battery is left in the car to begin with

I've only public charged twice. I don't get out much (LOL) and have a home charger.
The public ones were the same location and InstaVolt - but a different charger each time. The chargers there were supposed to be 62.5 kW DC.
First one was 33 mins and 37.5kW. I think the car was around 25% at the start and we charged to only 80%. That's a calculated charge rate of around 68kWh.
Second one was 44 mins and 25.5kW - trying to charge to 100% but I stopped it at 97%. The calculated charge rate was only 35kWh. This charge started at around 60+ kWh, but I think it tailed off around 80% onwards as I expected. I've read the final 10-15% is much slower and that's certainly what I saw. I will now only charge to around 80% on public chargers, and preferably starting the charge close to 20%. That seems to get the fastest charge as indicated in our first one.

And one surprising thing ive found so far is there are more free chargers than you think? I'm in Leamington in Warwickshire, and there are 8 BP Pulse 7 kw chargers in the car park by the cinema! which cost £0.00 per kw! You do have to pay £2.20 for Parking but otherwise is free. if a little slow.
So its worth checking the apps to see if any nearby lol esp the BP pulse ones who seem to have them dotted around the midlands at least
I've got a charger installed at home but free is free lol so have been making use!

Yes charge at home near Bath.
NOTHING FREE around here that I know.
Paying just 7.5 p a unit I shudder when it's a tidy £1 public.
£5 a full charge instead off £70
Better VOTE for someone who is gonna reduce the VAT
OR bring back conscription
Or increase pensions
Or nowt
Oops. Gone off 'Pist' with that
Thanks Guys

Had 85kW Instavolt and 80kW with Tesla supercharger. I used the charges as destination in Google Maps so battery should have been preconditioned
57kW with Fuuse , battery hadn’t been preconditioned
They all been 20min or thereabouts

You'll notice the car can only sustain full speed up to around 30% where it starts to gradually decline as it moves up to full

Note
The battery can charge the fastest when the battery level is low. After reaching 30%, the maximum charging speed gradually decreases as the battery level increases.
