QUOTE
I found that on my EX30 this problem affects only DAB stations, w/ or w/o OPD.
If I select an FM station it never occurs.UNQUOTE

It does affect FM too on mine but if I stream RADIO from Tune In app then it does not do it?
Global Player is not available.
Cheers Andy!

I can't get it to reduce the volume on DAB even.

This morning I drove for about 20 km in intense city traffic listening to a DAB radio station: with both OPD enabled and disabled the muting never occurred while braking.
But inexplicably when I had to park the car in the garage and started using the reverse gear (not previously engaged until that moment), the muting reappeared, and since then it occurred both when braking in reverse and forward gear...

The inconsistency of this problem let me suppose that it's not something only relative to the rear breaking light, but also (or only) to the reverse light?

Mine is consistently inconsistent.
I stopped in a traffic queue.
So did the radio.
Stopped again..
So did the radio
Tapped the accelerator pedal very lightly.
(Car did not move)
Radio started then stopped instantly.
Only when moving off properly again did it restart.
BONKERS FAULT
DAB and FM
Streaming it for me seemed fine.
(I will try again to be sure.)
Cheers Andy!

After 1.4.2 software update still DAB radio goes silent when breaking. Local dealer said that on my car they have to change the rear light (did not say which one) to fix this kind of problem.

It’t the top braking light. On a German forum users told the bulb was replaced using a modified bulb. In many cases the problems were over.

I don't think my car has ever suffered from this.

It is really dependent on the dab signal strength. Strong signal, no problem. Weak dab signal, drop outs. Interference from brake light circuit close to the dab aerial.

It could be a setting related to the car’s “quiet” mode or a feature designed to help focus, but honestly, it seems like something more technical, like an electrical issue or a system glitch. I'd recommend checking if there’s a "driver assist" or "comfort" setting in your menu.

They changed brake light on my car and made update to 1.5 but no help, dealer tested it also, said they took data and send it to Sweden to find what is still causing it.
