Steering wheel controls - solution

Hello Everyone,
just to share with you my steering wheel controls manual upgrade.

I bought package of transparent stickers with small braille dot in the middle.
Then I put stickers on the steering wheel controls.

It is now easy to find the position of each "button" just by touching.
So fare works fine, and they are almost not visible in the natural daylight

Actually it was not so easy to find. I have contacted several companies but only one polish advertising agency replayed (https://proxart.pl/kontakt/), my contacts were Paweł Wychryst ([email protected]) and Rafał Komar ([email protected]), if you refer to my name (Grzegorz Laszuk) they shall still remember my order (you can also send the photo).
I am polish so it was easy for me to collect them but I believe they shall send it also to UK.
Cost was 140 PLN (around 28 GBP) with shipment in Poland of 30 stickers.

I have been thinking about the steering wheel buttons today and it occurred to me that all they needed to do was exactly what you have achieved, put a little raised dot in the centre of the button. That or a small depression.

Incidentally, even though I haven’t had the issues with the buttons that some have reported, I did notice that, particularly for the left side buttons, if you rest a finger on the button a corresponding icon appears in the top middle of the touchscreen showing what the action will be when the button is pressed. It is maybe not ideal while driving but it could be used to practice while stationary.

Try, maybe it will work fine… I was thinking about it but they are thicker and look more like a bubbles. I was afraid that haptic buttons will not work.
My idea was to have something almost not visible but useful.

That looks really interesting. My car has 'proper' buttons on the steering wheel at the moment and the steering wheel buttons are one thing that would put me off the EX30. Do you find that you push the wrong button by mistake? Or does moving your finger over the pad make this happen?

I have found that after a few days use it becomes second nature. No need for bumps.

Also the indicator stalk is different from my previous cars, but again after few days use you get used to how much pressure to apply.

So do you actually have to press it down, usually no false presses by running your thumbs over it? I saw a youtube reviewer who was annoyed that he had swapped the song instead of hitting a volume button in the middle of a good song!

I was playing with the buttons on the steering wheel recently and noticed the effect described above. Touching the button doesn’t activate anything, it has to be pressed. You will feel a slight ’click’. For some of the buttons (left side particularly) touching the button brings up an icon on the screen and pressing initiates the action.
