Remote unlocking using EX30 phone app

Hi, I can lock the car remotely using the EX30 phone app, but I can't unlock remotely. I get a message,"setup passcode on phone to enable remote unlocking". How do I do that?

It sounds like it wants the phone itself to have a passcode before it allows it in the app. That must be in case somebody gets your phone and unlocks the car with it.

Sounds like it's similar to a lot of things these days.

I presume it's the number you use to unlock your phone?

Fortunately my phone has fingerprint recognition so I just tap the screen. Haven't got my car yet to try it out.

I think it may be a phone thing. Mine works on iphone as did my xc40.
What phone do you have?

I have a Google Pixel 4a Android phone. How/where can I set the required car unlock passcode? The EX30 app doesn't give me the oportunity to enter any digits.

Sorry, the only code for app I know is the one Volvo send when logging in to app.
If you have Facebook there are a few ex30 groups there where a lot of questions are asked and answered I’m on a couple as are others in this forum.

Yes My phone has a normal passcode to access the phone. I need some additional passcode for the EX30 app.

Sorry I can't help - just thought that was what the error message was suggesting and was worth checking out.
