Surely dealers and lease companies should have parts and spares for a car that has been out in the uk for at least 4 months.
Our car is now off the road, starting with a stone bash, and three days later (no driving) is now creeping up the passenger side window.
Auto glass or whoever they are say a 3 week wait for a new screen from Sweden direct from Volvo.
So we live rural and without a car.
Let’s hope the EV9 GTline S turns up next week as it’s already a week late!!

You can still use that car! It won't suddenly explode!

Someone's just had a new panoramic roof fitted very quickly.

Be really careful with Autoglass…

They did the windscreen on my Puma ST and royally buggered it up!
They broke it getting it out again, and finally fitted it correctly the third time…
They also broke 2 trim pieces… first one they had done… they said…
Just check the heated screen once they have replaced it…
If they do make a mess… don’t bother with their customer services… they are useless… I contacted the CEO directly on Twitter… had a reply in 8 minutes…

It is the standard practice not to drive with a chip. The shocks can cause the damage to enlarge to an unrepairable size when otherwise it could have been repaired. That is the reason why insurers strongly say do not drive. Anyways they try to setup a repair inspection quite soon. If it can't be repaired then I can't see why they would care. I haven't heard of a windscreen claim being declined yet but it is possible that if the event date and the reporting date are unreasonably far, they may decline to cover.

Chips can be repaired. I dont think crack can be, they need replacement. And surely, once they have approved the replacement (as opposed to a chip repair) it doesn't matter if you drive. The crack might get bigger - but who cares, the screen is being thrown in the rubbish once its taken out and replaced with a new one.

In the UK a crack of 40mm is a mot fail. Insurance companies will generally use the mot standard as guidance regarding the fitness of a vehicle to be used on the road regardless of age.

Spent all day at the appointed windscreen repair team. Fitted the new EX30 screen no problem; but they couldn’t figure out how to calibrate with the EX30 sensors.
Put a long story short, have the car back with no lane assist, cruise control, auto wipers or basically any tech from 1985
Onwards!!
Still no CarPlay FFS
