Hi, I picked up my Ex30 a week ago. When I want to charge the car, the cable that comes with the car does not work. I have tried another cable which is slower and it works. I got a new one from Volvo and it has the same problem. Volvo then lent me a car and I tested the new cable with that car and it worked. Is there a specific setting in the car that makes it impossible to charge the car?

I use the charge amps aura at home :)

Go into settings and to the charge menu, check that the limiter is set on and slide the bar to 32amps, and then make sure the charge scheduling is turned off, then try the cable again👍

Also, turn off any scheduled charging times in the car.

There is an intermittent problem with the scheduler and it sometimes actually prevents the car from charging during the scheduled timings, but allows it to charge outside the schedule - when it shouldn't be charging.

I also found first time I connected to one of the 22kw chargers at work, Inexplicably I had to connect the cable to the car first, then the wall box (normally would be wallbox first). After that it was fine.

Last night, for the second time, we got a notification on the App saying "EX30's charging has failed".
We use scheduled charging (scheduled in the car itself) to take advantage of off peak rates and a 22kW 3 phase wallbox.
We normally have no problem at all and when I investigated this morning, the charging cable was properly inserted ( I really checked this before removing to make completely sure).
I switched off the scheduling and it still wouldn't charge, but when I removed and replaced the cable, it did charge.
The error we got does not give any reason why the charge failed. Does anyone know if there is more information to be had on this?

Thanks,
Jules

There is a bug in the charger timer in the car that appeared when 1.2.1 was replaced by 1.3. Volvo still haven't got it fixed.

Keep the timer in the car switched off and it should work OK.

Unfortunately this means you have to depend on your charger, not the car to, schedule the off-peak charging. Most can do that, but if yours can't it is unfortunately going to be a major problem for you.

We rarely do get a charging has failed event at times when the vehicle is being climate conditioned on a timer but is otherwise at full charge and not charging. I'm not sure whether this is because the vehicle actually does attempt to top up the charge at that time and it is failing for some reason, or because there is some bug related to climate preconditioning, or perhaps some interaction between the car and our Tesla universal wall connector.

Hi everyone. Got the EX30 about a month ago and have been lurking while very much enjoying the car. :)

We're now getting the same problem whenever we connect to an AC charger: the indicator light on the car's charging socket immediately turns red and we get a "EX30's charging has failed" notification. DC fast charging works fine, but we've tried 2 different 7kW chargers with 2 different cables and got the same error every time. Tried resetting the infotainment and adjusting the charging setting as per this thread but no joy. :(

Any other suggestions before we resort to a trip to the dealer? Thanks in advance for any help!
