I would like to point out that I picked up my EX30 SMER on March 22nd with connection problems (and other known ones) resolved with update 1.3
Last Saturday I receive notification in the app that update 1.3.1 is ready to be installed.
I wait for my wife to return home with the car and I launch the update directly from the pad.
I wait about an hour, open the app and see the installation is 100% but not completed.
I wait another 40 minutes and check but it's still 100% installation.
Having to use auto, I open and check on the pad and it tells me that the 1.3.1 software is installed while in the app it always says "100% installation".
Immediately after leaving I realize that the EX30, despite having a full signal, has no internet connection.
I return home and hope that by leaving it stopped all night it will be resolved but nothing so far without connection and with the app without any data.
When I took it to Volvo assistance they gave me a printout with a communication that Volvo is aware that last Thursday/Saturday some examples lost connection and that the assistance could not do anything. They then tell me to wait until Volvo would solve the problem directly...
I don't trust it and it seems obvious to me that it all started with the update not being installed correctly...
I seem to be the only one with this problem... or are there others in the same situation as me?
MORAL: today I have cars with maximum signal connection (but almost always in E Edge - I didn't think it still existed) and an unusable app... and worse still without any information on the solution!
What do you think?
Update 1.3.1 stuck "installing 100%"
If I connect the EX30 with the cell hotspot I have internet in the car but the app remains "disconnected" without any information... not even the location of the car (it tells me to activate data sharing but it is activated).
Car with connection signal (for days in E and I don't understand why since there is both 4G and 5G in my area) but without internet and app as "disconnected" from the car without any info.
This morning I took it to the service again but from how they spoke to me it seems that there is no clear solution but only attempts...
My wife has been in tears for days and she tells me that she wants to sell it... I understand her too, I'm exhausted now!

You have probably done this already - but within the app there is an option to ":Add Car" - are you able to do this and add the car to the app again (in settings under the profile tab, and then click connected cars, click add car and reenter the details)
Its worth a try and I had a problem a few weeks ago where it stopped connecting to the car and I did this and it was back to normal!

Thank you but I have already tried that too, removed car and added it again... also tried sharing car with someone else (my wife) with a different VolvoID... nothing to do!
Unfortunately no one knows how to solve it! This morning the service told me that they were trying the procedure indicated by Volvo but according to them the only solution is to wait for a new update that rewrites everything.
Given Volvo's release times, it won't be any time soon, in fact if the times are the same as those indicated for CarPlay...
Unfortunately, I was the one who convinced my wife to purchase it and now I feel really guilty!!!
Ok it's my first Volvo and having had Testla, Porsche I was aware of having to carry out various updates but I didn't think of a situation like this, where "every day" there is something wrong!!!
For example this morning there was no opened with the remote control and we had to use the card...
Nice car, comfortable to use but truly and definitely not ready to be sold! tests are missing!!!!
Just think of the problem of the DAB radio which interrupts every braking and the lack of CarPlay which I found to work perfectly on a very cheap and not recent rental car!!
Disappointment and discouragement... shame I bought it! With the rental I would have already returned...

AFAIK you've got more issues than any other...
But if I were you I'd consider to contact another official Volvo service center, maybe your dealer has too little acquaintance with the EX30.
Indeed I have experience of official service centers (of other brands, not speaking about Volvo) that sometimes were pretty ineffective and unhelpful while others were able to solve my problems.
Reinstalling from scratch the same 1.3.1 firmware (rewriting) should always be possible, but if this doesen't solve your problems you might have a defective car.

Thought I'd share a few of my EX30 experiences here, granted not all are update related.
Like the rest of you my 1.3.1 stopped at 93% so I booked in to the dealer for then to update. While there I asked for the wheel alignment to be sorted to straighten the steering wheel.
Both were done in a day, they supplied a loan EX30 which also had all the same issues mine does.
I was told that the technician completed a long road test and the radio braking issue had gone. It has not! No change, in fact it cut out after 100 yds.
Some apps seem a little more responsive, Audible and Spotify both worked today which is unusual.
Voice recognition was more useful, I was able to make a phone call without having to prod the menus.
I've not charged since so can't yet confirm if the 6A issue is resolved, nor if it has broken the scheduled charging feature. The dealer says they've never heard if this!
Otherwise, everything else is still as bad as before.
I've tried rejecting the car via the dealer who wouldn't accept my letter because Volvo sold me the car directly. Sent the same complaint to Volvo who said they would try to respond within 2 months or I should contact the Ombudsman. Helpful.
Like others, I'm sick of being a beta tester for an unfinished car.
I'll never buy another Volvo for sure.
